2013 APRIL
election date has finally been announced! not much roadworks going on... but the roads were improved way before election being announced...
designed the trophy for the 10th cameronian arts awards as a limited edition sculpture, nicely executed in pewter by royal selangor. another collaboration with royal selangor will see a 12 year old wall sculpture being adapted into a royal selangor product....
started working on the sculpture park...
2013 JAN
well, its 2013. probably thats why there were no roadworks last year. some roads in kuang are pretty bad... avoid coming to kuang via bukit rahman putra, the road got so many potholes in front of the school and laman kasih cafe, traffic can be over a kilometer long during rush hour... since 2013 will definitely be election year, hopefully we will see upgrading of roadworks progressing...

election is coming up again... quite different from previous election.. so far no upgrading of infrastructure in kuang...

this year's new year eve is a total contrast to last year (u can read how i celebrated my 2009 NY below)...
in terms of sculptural development, there was a major work i promised angela and hijjas as a token of my appreciation for my residency back in 2000.. its now 10 years later, and finally the work is complete. coincidentally, it was angela's birthday, and the work had 60 pieces of repeating elements in it... hence, it was presented as a major work to angela hijjas for her 60th birthday from hijjas kasturi.. as hijjas said "it took 60 weeks to get the work done" and it virtually did... it now sits in rimbun dahan, the place where it all started... http://www.rimbundahan.org/art/permanent_collection/outdoor.html

new year's eve slept by the road side near sungai besi for 2 hours and woke up just before midnight. it has been an exhaustive 2008... looks like 2009 will be just as hectic.. plan to avoid doing group shows.. "i dont do group shows".. or solo shows for that matter.. only will focus on commission works and getting KKKKKKK back on track for 2009, bela ikan keli, cuba ulam hidroponik... tengok la camne.. and started work on upgrading KKKKKKK...

well, BN has conquered Kuang, thanks to their effort at controlling flood and recounting the votes 14 times. and the next day that they won, they just left the remaining works to completing the culvert, abandoned. but now THOR (the UMNO's wakil rakyat nickname) has got a big headache bcos he is the opposition group for selangor. today he just sits around at the kedai kopi (coffee shop) and thinks about how to make things happen for his constituency when all his cables are gone... mighty thor.. poor guy...

many cool sculptures were conceived here.. and many cooler ones are soon to come.. when i have time i'd like to author books with titles such as these: contemporary art for dummies, welding 101, how to make stuff and call it art, how to make money to make art vs how to make art to make money, art is for losers, an idiot's guide to setting up an art gallery and how to earn income from artists and collectors, how to make a living doing what you like, i don't do group shows, the art of cooking, CAD for dummies, the theoretical framework and methodology of the Gestalt effect on the shifting movement of the contemporary art, idiot artist produces intelligent art vs intelligent artist produces idiot art, Secret Knowledge: Rediscovering the Lost Techniques of the Old Masters: The Hockney-Falco thesis. also, since elections are coming up, BN government is now very concerned with flooding, as recent weather is raining heaps... so they have put proper culvert in the parit along the Kuang road.. now all fish are dead cos no plants can grown and therefore no habitat, but at least there wont be no more flooding for the kuang folks!!
