IME Group of Companies recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) to jointly deliver BIM training and assessment aligned with industry needs.

The MoA was signed by Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, Vice-Chancellor of USIM, and Mr. JY Teoh, Executive Vice President of IME Group of Companies, and witnessed by Associate Prof. Dr. Nurul Syala Abdul Latip, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment of USIM and Ms. Syllvia Ng, Head, Portfolio Management – AEC of IME Group of Companies.

Through this collaboration, USIM’s academic strengths will be combined with IME’s AEC industry expertise, training capabilities and curriculum oversight. The programme aims to develop practical BIM competencies, multidisciplinary thinking and information-management skills for real project environments.

A meaningful week at ARCHIDEX 2026, where conversations around BIM, design intelligence, and digital delivery took centre stage!

At the IME booth, we focused on showcasing a connected ecosystem that supports the full design-to-delivery journey:

IFC is meant to make BIM collaboration easier. So why are many project teams still facing model exchange and coordination issues?

This was the key discussion at Archicad + Solibri: Making IFC Work for You, where AEC professionals came together to explore how better IFC workflows can support model coordination, quality checking and openBIM collaboration.

From the feedback gathered, more than 60% of respondents are already working on, preparing for, or planning BIM projects.

However, the common challenges remain clear:
