When a saw runs out of depth, you don't cut slower — you cut the same line twice. Second pass never sits perfectly in the first. That's where the ragged edge comes from, and that's what the client sees when the joint is filled.

Floor still looks rough or uneven after grinding? The surface just isn't ready for the next step yet.

Grinding has its own sequence — coarse to fine. Skip a step, and the deeper scratch from before doesn't disappear. It just gets buried under the next pass.

30 → 60 → 120. Each grit's job is to remove the scratch left by the one before it. This stage is about leveling the surface and opening the right profile — not shine yet.
Quick check: run angled light across the surface before moving on. Still see the previous scratch pattern? That step isn't done.

Before you start: fuel/battery, oil, blade condition, cables and guards — five minutes, not five hours of downtime later.

While it's running: your machine already tells you something's wrong before it fails completely. Noise, heat, dust extraction, sudden RPM drops — don't ignore them.

End of shift: clear the debris, inspect wear parts, recharge, store dry. The five minutes that save you five days.

🔍 SITE REALITY: The Crack Won Before Your Saw Got There

Not the concrete's fault. The cut's.
Every random crack you've patched, every joint that never closed clean, it usually traces back to timing, not the mix.

Cut too late → shrinkage stress already cracked it randomly, before the saw ever touched it.
Cut too early → the blade ravels and tears the surface instead of cutting clean.
Cut too shallow → the joint never actually relieves the stress. It's cosmetic, not structural.

The fix isn't a stronger saw. It's cutting on the concrete's clock, not yours:

✅ Cut as soon as the surface can bear the saw without raveling
✅ Go at least 1/4 of the slab depth — no shallower
✅ Space joints to match slab thickness, not habit

Get your timing right. The floor won't forgive it if you don't.
