It all depends on two things:

The longer you’re exposed to heavy rain, wet snow or storms — the higher waterproof rating you’ll need.

A 20,000mm jacket can keep you dry through serious rainstorms — unlike cheaper “windbreakers” that soak through within 30 minutes.

And yes — even in the jungle, staying DRY prevents hypothermia.

🥶 Wet clothes + wind + fatigue = body heat loss.

If your outer layer wets out quickly, it’s not built for real exposure.
