HIEDYC is deployed to treat up to 32 m of engineered fill for this large-scale site, achieving significant time and cost efficiency. Unlike conventional methods that require compaction in 300 mm layers, HIEDYC allows filling and compaction in 1 m thick layers, reducing the total number of cycles by over 60%.

High Impact Energy Dynamic Compaction (HIEDYC) at Taman Linggi Impian.
HIEDYC will densify the in-situ loose fill, create solid fill, and reduce the differential settlement. With this solution, an allowable bearing capacity of 200 kPa (with a factor of safety of 2) for shallow foundation designs can be adopted.
This method is also suitable for this site due to the minimum vibration disturbance (less than 10 mm/s peak particle velocity (PPV)) to the surrounding buildings or structures. It will increase bearing capacity and eliminate differential settlement.

Light Weight Deflectometer Theory (Elhakim, et al, 2014) The light weight deflectometer (LWD), also known as the light falling weight deflectometer, light drop weight tester, and dynamic plate load test, is a hand portable device that was developed in Germany to measure the soil in situ LWD dynamic modulus. Typically, this modulus is used to evaluate the subsoil degree of compaction. Thus it is suitable for compaction quality control of soilsurfaced roads, embankments and replacement fill.

One of the main uses of the light weight deflectometer is the quality control of fill placed in the field. The degree of compaction is defined as the ratio of the in-situ density to the maximum laboratory dry density. It may be evaluated from the LWD indirectly by empirical correlations between the LWD modulus and degree of compaction. One of the most used correlations for evaluating the degree of compaction from LWD results is the German additional technical specification and guidelines for earth works in road construction.
