When fabricating custom stone backsplashes and countertops, precision site measurements are everything. Most people assume walls are perfectly square, but on real construction sites:
📐 5mm–10mm variance: Considered very straight and ideal!
⚠️ 2 inches (~50mm) off: Surprise, surprise... it happens more often than you think!

That’s why we do detailed site site checks and digital measurements long before cutting any slab. Catching wall angles early guarantees a seamless, zero-gap installation every single time.

From Water Leak Disaster to Flush-Mount Perfection 🛠️💧

What started as hidden condensation from a faulty under-mount sink turned into a total nightmare—completely rotting out the original island carcass wood.

Since we originally supplied this gorgeous AHE Gomma Slate slab, AHE Stone stepped in alongside the carpentry team to fix it the right way:

• Base Rebuild: Replaced ruined plywood base with 100% waterproof ENV board.

• Precision Routing: Unmounted the slate top and custom-routed a flush-mount ledge outdoors.

• The Upgrade: Reinstalled the basin top-flush with the stone surface.

Switching to a flush-mount sink eliminated under-counter water traps entirely while keeping our signature AHE Gomma Slate aesthetic front and center! 🪨✨

Raw site to an architectural floating entrance! 🏗️➡️

Entrance steppers exposed to tropical rain and sun need to be more than just visually striking—they must be safe, durable, and weather-proof.

We transformed this raw cement entryway using 6mm Neolith Amazónico in a Slate finish paired with Granite Wall Cladding. The textured Slate surface provides built-in anti-slip protection during heavy downpours, while large-format 6mm sintered slabs keep the profile lightweight for a seamless floating effect.

Turmeric is every homeowner’s nightmare stain test! 💛 We came across this stain test comparing 5 popular surface materials, but we had to chime in on that cleaning step! 🧼

⚠️ STONE CARE WARNING: Please skip the vinegar on natural stone like marble! Vinegar is acidic and causes instant chemical etching (dull spots) on calcium-based stone—even when diluted.

Safe Cleaning Tip:
🧼 Sintered Stone / Porcelain: Glass cleaner or mild soap
🪨 Natural Stone / Quartz: A basic baking soda + water paste, or a pH-neutral stone cleaner

It all comes down to maintenance! Go with non-porous materials for low hassle, or make sure your natural stone is properly sealed.
