๐ฃ๏ธ WHAT IS CBR IN-SITU & WHY IT MATTERS IN EVERY ROAD PROJECT?
California Bearing Ratio (CBR) In-Situ is one of the most critical tests to determine if your subgrade can carry the load. Itโs not just a number โ it determines the thickness and lifespan of your pavement.
At Globallab Engineering Sdn Bhd, we conduct In-Situ CBR testing directly on site to give you the REAL strength of the ground in its existing condition.
๐ฏ OBJECTIVES OF CBR IN-SITU:
1. To evaluate the mechanical strength and bearing capacity of subgrade, sub-base & base course in-place.
2. To provide design data for flexible pavement thickness design.
3. To verify compaction quality and suitability for construction traffic and wheel loads.
4. To identify weak zones that may cause settlement or pavement failure.
โ๏ธ KEY TEST PARAMETERS WE MEASURE:
โข Load vs. Pe*******on Relationship (0 to 5.08mm)
โข CBR Value at 2.5mm & 5.0mm pe*******on: CBR = (Test Load / Standard Load) x 100%
โข Standard Loads: 13.20 kN at 2.5mm & 20.00 kN at 5.0mm
๐ STANDARDS WE COMPLY WITH:
Region | Standard for CBR IN-SITU
Malaysia (JKR/MS) | JKR/SPJ/2008-S4 - Specification for Road Works, Arahan Teknik Jalan, MS 1056 (Soil), Referenced to BS 1377
British Standard | BS 1377: Part 9: 1990 - In-situ tests (Clause 5 - In-situ CBR) & BS 1377: Part 4 for Lab CBR
