Stainless steel braided hoses are highly durable and flexible hoses used in demanding environments. They consist of an inner hose & surrounded by a braided stainless steel layer for added strength and protection.
Common uses and benefits:
1. Plumbing and Water Systems
Applications: Faucet connectors, toilet water supply lines, dishwasher/washing machine hoses.
Why: Flexibility for easy installation, corrosion resistance, and durability against pressure surges.
2. Automotive and Motorsport
Applications: Brake lines, fuel lines, oil lines, turbocharger lines, clutch lines.
Why: Can handle high pressures and temperatures, resists kinking, and ensures safety in high-performance settings.
3. Industrial Applications
Applications: Steam transfer, chemical processing, gas delivery systems, hydraulic systems.
Why: Excellent chemical resistance (especially with PTFE core), handles high pressures and temperatures, and resists vibration damage.
4. High-Temperature Applications
Applications: Steam lines, exhaust systems, furnace/boiler connections.
Why: Withstands elevated temperatures (often > 500°F / 260°C depending on hose type), won’t degrade or melt like plastic or rubber.
5. Gas and Air Systems
Applications: Compressed air lines, gas supply lines (oxygen, nitrogen, etc.).
Why: Leak-resistant, safe for flammable or hazardous gases when using proper inner lining (e.g., PTFE)
6. Chemical Transfer
Applications: Acids, solvents, caustic fluids in labs or plants.
Why: PTFE-lined versions are inert to most chemicals and protected by the steel braid from mechanical damage.
Advantages ;
- High pressure resistance
- Heat resistance
- Corrosion resistance (especially in marine or chemical environments)
- Flexibility and vibration absorption
- Long service life
