Retreating a Failed Root Canal with MANI Instruments
A 29-year-old female presented with a failed root canal, recurrent sinus tract, and chronic apical periodontitis affecting the upper left central incisor.
During nonsurgical root canal retreatment, MANI D Finders and MANI Glide Finders were used to establish a safe bypass, followed by MANI GPRS for efficient gutta-percha removal prior to canal disinfection and obturation.
Five-month follow-up radiographs demonstrated favourable healing, allowing the tooth to be preserved and restored successfully.
A clinical example highlighting the importance of a systematic retreatment workflow for predictable endodontic outcomes.

JIZAI in Complex Canal Anatomy
Watch Dr. Hugo Sousa Dias demonstrate the retreatment of a maxillary first premolar presenting with a Vertucci Type VI canal configuration โ€” a challenging anatomy where canals merge and divide along their course.
Following access preparation, desobturation, canal negotiation, and glide path establishment, JIZAI rotary files were used to shape the canal system. ๐Ÿฆท Managing a Taurodontism Case with MANI Instruments
This clinical case involved a 4-year-old female patient presenting with multiple primary molars affected by hypertaurodontism โ€” a developmental anomaly characterized by enlarged pulp chambers and shortened roots, which can complicate endodontic treatment.
During treatment, MANI BR-45 and BR-31 Round Burs were used for caries excavation and access opening, followed by biomechanical canal preparation using MANI K-Files and H-Files during pulpectomy procedures.
The case was managed with comprehensive rehabilitation including pulpectomy, stainless steel crown restoration, extraction of a severely affected molar, and space maintenance, helping preserve function and support long-term oral development.
