MCVE 2026 runs 14–16 May at MIECC, with a record 20% international exhibitors, a Taiwan Pavilion, and CargoNOW Malaysia conference.

The Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2026 (MCVE 2026) will take place from May 14 to 16, 2026, at the MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC), Selangor, marking the seventh edition of the largest commercial vehicle exhibition in Southeast Asia.

The event is organised by Asian Trucker Media and is targeted at industry professionals, including fleet operators, business owners, and decision-makers. Entry is free with registration.

This year’s edition sees the strongest overseas participation in the event’s history, with international exhibitors occupying 20 per cent of booths. The show also introduces a Taiwan Pavilion, bringing together a delegation of seven Taiwanese companies to showcase their products and capabilities, reflecting growing regional participation in the Malaysian commercial vehicle market.

“This year, we have the strongest representation of international brands ever. This signals that our commercial vehicle market as well as our exhibition, are of importance for brands outside Malaysia,” the organiser said in its official statement.

The exhibition centres on trucks and the supporting ecosystem, with exhibitors presenting components, workshop equipment, and transport-related solutions focused on maintenance, operational efficiency, and day-to-day fleet performance.

Ministry of Transport to Officiate MCVE 2026
Organisers of the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2026 and the Ministry of Transport will be officiating the event on 14th May 2026. Accordingly, the Minister of Transport (YB Anthony Loke) will be the guest of honour. This follows the Minister's previous involvement as guest of honour in the 2024 instalment of the event series.

MOT issues New Guidelines and De-Controlled Vehicles and Pick-up Trucks for Goods Transport

New MOT guidelines govern goods transport by de-controlled vehicles and pick-up trucks, covering permits and road safety.

The Malaysian Ministry of Transport (MOT) has released new guidelines governing the use of de-controlled vehicles and pick-up trucks for carrying goods, in a move aimed at providing greater clarity to the public, vehicle owners, and industry players. The guidelines take effect on April 1, 2026.

Issued through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the guidelines dictate that good vehicles with a Weight by Load (BDM) not exceeding 7,500 kg are classified as de-controlled vehicles and can be used to carry the owners’ own goods without requiring a permit from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).

However, if the vehicles are used to transport goods belonging to third parties for rental or wage purposes, operators must obtain a Carrier’s Permit A from APAD, in accordance with the Land Public Transport Act 2010 [Act 715].

Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the guidelines were necessary to eliminate confusion and promote more consistent enforcement across the industry.

“The purpose of this guideline is to ensure people, vehicle owners, as well as industry players have a better understanding of what is allowed under law, while avoiding misunderstandings and ensuring enforcement can be carried out more consistently,” he said.
