Telford Group of Companies is looking for an experienced construction leader to join our team in Johor Bahru | Kuala Lumpur.

The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of assigned projects from planning and mobilisation through ex*****on, handover and close-out. The role requires strong leadership across programme, cost, quality, safety, contracts and stakeholder coordination.

What we are looking for:

* Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in construction project management
* Proven track record delivering complex building projects
* Strong command of planning, programme control, cost, quality and safety
* Confident leadership of project teams, consultants, clients and subcontractors
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline

We are proud to share a meaningful milestone for our Group leadership.

Our Group Managing Director, Ir. Dr. Kong Weng Keong, has recently been appointed as Adjunct Professor at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and has also been elected as Chairman of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Southern Branch for the 2026/2027 term.

These recognitions reflect not only his personal commitment to professional excellence, industry leadership, and knowledge-sharing, but also the values that our Group continues to uphold — excellence, service, innovation, and contribution to nation-building.

The Adjunct Professorship is a distinguished acknowledgment of his industry experience and ability to bridge academic learning with real-world practice, particularly in the fields of engineering, construction, business, and leadership. His election to lead IEM Southern Branch further demonstrates the confidence that the engineering fraternity has placed in his vision, dedication, and leadership for the profession.

An exciting milestone for our team today as we officially held the Project Kick-Off Meeting for the Main Building Works (Phase 2) at Regency Medical Care Centre, Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru.

Coincidentally, today also falls on the vibrant Chor 23 celebration of the Johor Bahru Chingay Festival, a day well known for unity, cultural harmony and positive energy in the community. It felt especially meaningful to begin this project on such an auspicious and festive day.

This project involves the renovation and upgrading of the existing medical care facility, including architectural refurbishment and the integration of specialised mechanical and electrical systems required for modern healthcare operations. Delivering works within an active commercial environment requires careful planning, disciplined ex*****on and strong collaboration among all stakeholders.

The kick-off session brought together the Employer, Consultant Team and Contractor to align on the project scope, construction programme, coordination strategy and implementation approach before the commencement of works.

We are honoured that Telford has been entrusted as the Main Contractor for this contract and we look forward to delivering this project with the highest standards of quality, safety, efficiency and professionalism.
