We pass the flame, hand to hand. It is a small act, easier than hope, maybe, but sometimes that is all we need.

Warmth is felt, perhaps a smile, a bit of patience, the scent of the earth when rain lifts.

This festival, let the glow find its way; not only onto doorsteps, but into the soil, into a river gone dry, into the quiet pause before a greeting, into all the corners we forget when we hurry.

Maybe the greatest gift we trade is not fire but this: the simplest presence. A willingness to mend what needs mending, to keep watch as the light travels out and returns.

From SEAD, wishing you Happy Diwali that is gentle, and bright where it matters!

When the sun sets, HEARTBURST pulses with a visual heartbeat, radiating warmth and life, not unlike the community it invites inside.

Storing over 11,700KG of CO2 isn’t just a factoid. It is a concrete win for cutting carbon. That is roughly the annual carbon footprint of some households. Imagine that stored, NOT emitted!

A collaboration of OfficeUntitled (OU) and SEAD, engineered by JTK Consult, Arup, rbhu and visualised by Kilograph . This edgy craft visualises stewardship as active and real, counted in the amount of carbon saved. Illuminated with a dynamic hue of colors crafted by Felix Lighting, the bamboo framework radiates warmth and invites collective celebration.

When you see the light dance through these poles, you are witnessing a system working, actively healing our planet’s future.

1,796 bamboo poles. 3,624 screws. 5,764 bolts.

This project shows the power of small things adding up: every pole, screw, and bolt plays a role in building a space that endures. Its four heart-shaped entrances welcome all to gather and embrace the spirit of community, unity, and mindfulness at the heart of Burning Man Project

643 kg of bamboo, a rapidly renewable material, means less reliance on carbon-heavy building materials. That is huge for anyone watching our planet’s future.

HEARTBURST : is more than an installation: it is a lesson in care that scales, standing quietly in the Nevada desert as proof that stewardship happens in steady, thoughtful steps.

On World Bamboo Day, we’re celebrating a material that is far more than “hardy grass that grows fast.”

At SEAD, bamboo is how we build places that breathe, regenerate land that’s been mined and forgotten, and create dignified green jobs right here in Malaysia. Through SEAD we’re proving that bamboo architecture can be safe, modern, timeless and scalable from pavilions and community hubs to elegant facades.

Through social forestry we’re training and formalising harvesters and craftspeople so rural families earn from a regenerative supply chain. And at Centre of Resilient Ecosystems (CoRE) in Perak, our living lab brings it together, agroforestry, biochar, and nature-based tourism turning regeneration into a real local economy.

Bamboo stores carbon, protects soil and water, and invites people back into stewardship; a timeless stewardship for people and nature.

That’s why it matters to us: when you design with bamboo, you don’t just cut emissions, you grow a timeless community.

Let’s keep the conversation going on bamboo builds and regeneration; planting, building, and closing the loop with biochar.

Bamboo teaches us something timeless.
It bends, but it does not break. It sways with the wind, yet stands tall again when the storm has passed. Its roots intertwined beneath the ground, holding each other firm through every season. And most importantly - it never grows alone!

That's the story of our Malaysia too.
We are many cultures, many voices, yet rooted in one foundation. Our diversity is our grove — giving us resilience to challenges, and unity to rise stronger together.

✨May we continue to rise together, stronger and ever united!🌿

We’re proud to share that Yellow House Kuala Lumpur, supported by YTL Foundation, has officially opened its doors earlier this year as a community hub for the urban poor, refugees, and volunteers.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the building showcases the potential of bamboo as a modern construction material, delivering spaces that are affordable, safe, and dignified.

Through SEAD, we contributed bamboo construction systems that highlight:
✨ The beauty and strength of bamboo in urban architecture
✨ Natural light and ventilation for healthier spaces
✨ A replicable model for community-driven, low-carbon infrastructure

A big shout out to our partners at YTL Foundation and all collaborators who made this vision possible.

We celebrate 68 years of Malaysia’s independence, a journey of resilience, unity, and hope for a better tomorrow. At SEAD, we believe that true independence also means building a sustainable future, where our land, people, and ecosystems thrive together🌱

Just as our nation’s forefathers envisioned freedom and dignity, we envision a Malaysia where regenerative bamboo economies uplift communities, restore the environment, and carry forward the spirit of MALAYSIA MADANI.

Here’s to honoring our past, embracing the present, and shaping a greener, freer, and more sustainable Malaysia for generations to come.

Selamat Hari Merdeka ke-68 dan Hari Malaysia, Malaysiaku! 🇲🇾💚

We honour the rich heritage, resilience, and deep ecological wisdom of the Orang Asli. At SEAD, our journey at KOA Pos Raya and Pos Poi is more than planting bamboo. It’s about building a regenerative economy rooted in culture, stewardship, and shared prosperity.

Through our social forestry initiatives, bamboo is becoming a regenerative source of income for these communities, supporting sustainable livelihoods, restoring ecosystems, and keeping traditions alive. From crafting to construction, bamboo has always been part of the OA life; today, it’s also a path to economic independence and climate resilience.

We’re deeply grateful to our partners who make this possible:
Yayasan Hasanah , Maybank Foundation Maybank and FSC Malaysia and to our many supporters in government, NGOs, and the private sector.

💚Here’s to a future where culture, nature, and communities thrive together!
