🚗Toyota’s “Water Engine” — A New Era That Could Outrun Electric Cars

It’s not science fiction — but it could feel like it.
Toyota is quietly steering the auto industry toward a radical future with its so-called “water engine” — a groundbreaking leap in sustainable mobility that could challenge the rise of electric vehicles altogether.
Despite the name, it doesn’t run directly on water. Instead, it harnesses hydrogen electrolysis technology, producing only one byproduct: pure water v***r.

Building on innovations from the Toyota Mirai, their hydrogen fuel-cell pioneer, and new hydrogen-adapted combustion engines, the company proposes a bold alternative — one that sidesteps the limitations of battery-powered EVs.

【神奇煉油機】美國神奇煉油機 能從「空氣」提煉碳中和「汽油」

還在想像未來加油站是電動車專用？那你可能得再想一下。來自紐約的新創公司Aircela正在做一件非常狂的事，用空氣、純水與再生電力，製造出汽車可用的高級汽油。

這台看起來像科學展品的裝置，不是魔術也不是幻想。它一天可以製造出約3.8公升的汽油，並能直接透過機器上的標準油槍，加進任何一般汽油車的油箱。不用石油、不靠油井，更沒有什麼化石燃料。

它的運作原理其實是認真的化學反應，首先利用含氫氧化鉀（KOH）的水溶液從空氣中「抓」出二氧化碳（CO₂）；接著用綠電（太陽能、風能或一般電網）把水電解出氫氣與氧氣。氧氣釋放，氫氣則儲存起來準備變身燃料。關鍵步驟是接下來的合成反應，把CO₂和氫氣結合成甲醇，再透過兩步催化程序（專業術語叫MTG，也就是甲醇轉汽油）轉化成真正可以開車用的汽油。

重點來了，這種汽油不是隨便玩玩的劣質燃料。經過測試，它的AKI值為90，相當於95汽油，完全可以適用於目前市面上的汽油車，而且還能混合傳統汽油使用，對車子零件也沒什麼衝擊。

更猛的是，Aircela最快2026年底在美國部分市場進行限量商業化服務。換句話說，不用等到2030年世界碳中和目標實現，這種裝置就可能在特定場合中率先登場。
