Ciudad Diplomática - Ayuntamiento de Guadalajara, México - 2010

Ciudad Diplomática was developed in 2010 following an invitation from the then Coordinator of the “Coordinación de Reactivación de Zonas, Proyecto Ciudad Creativa Digital,” part of the Guadalajara City Council (Ayuntamiento de Guadalajara).

The project was conceived as a civic and institutional building that could bring together office spaces and work areas for consular representatives from different countries. The main idea was to create a liaison point between the public and the official consular offices, allowing citizens to request information, documentation guidance, or support related to a specific country without needing to visit each consulate individually.

This proposal, including the architectural concept, building design, site organization, massing, façade language, sustainability strategy, landscape integration, and overall presentation, was entirely developed by 3xtruDe Architecture as an individual design proposal.

The building was envisioned as a shared platform for international representation, public service, and institutional coordination. Each participating country could have a representative within the building to assist visitors, respond to inquiries, and help connect citizens with the appropriate consular channels.

The proposed site was located on a small section of the northern area of the existing DIF Guadalajara main offices, property of the Guadalajara City Council. This location allowed the project to be integrated into an existing civic environment while contributing to the broader urban vision associated with Ciudad Creativa Digital.

Architecturally, Ciudad Diplomática was designed as a contemporary and sustainable urban building. The proposal incorporated solar panels, green walls, landscaped areas, shaded exterior spaces, and passive environmental strategies as part of its identity. These elements were intended to reinforce the idea of a green building while creating a more comfortable and active public environment.

Ciudad Diplomática was conceived as a modern civic project that combined public service, international presence, sustainability, and urban reactivation within the evolving context of Guadalajara’s creative district.

Back in 2016, we designed this small country weekend cabin for a Colombian friend and client who asked us to develop the project.

The house was located in the forested area of Chiquinquirá, Boyacá, Colombia, and was conceived as a compact 70 square meter weekend home for a family of four. The intention was to create a simple, warm, and comfortable retreat where the family could spend time away from the city and enjoy a closer connection with nature.

The design combines clean modern volumes with natural materials such as wood, stone, glass, and warm interior finishes. Even with a small footprint, the goal was to make the house feel open, cozy, and strongly connected to the outdoor terrace and surrounding landscape.

A small weekend cabin imagined for quiet family moments in the Colombian countryside.

Continuing with the trend of revisiting old projects, just like the UdeG Television building, here is another piece from my early architecture student days.

Back in 2004, during Composition Class, our professor asked us to develop a proposal for a coffee restaurant located on the lake at Parque de la Liberación. The idea was to imagine a quiet place where people could relax, gather, and enjoy the landscape, while the rest of the park was envisioned as part of a larger master plan with sports venues for the future Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico held in 2012.

This was one of those regular design exercises we worked on throughout architecture school, where every assignment became an opportunity to imagine a new urban experience. I worked on this project with two good friends. My role was to develop the overall master plan and design this lakeside restaurant, while my colleagues focused on the stadium proposals within the park.

At the time, it was just a fun academic exercise. But looking back at it now, almost twenty years later, it is exciting to see how today’s AI visualization tools allow us to bring these old ideas back to life with a completely new atmosphere, mood, and level of detail. What once existed only as a student project can now be reimagined as a more refined architectural image, while still preserving the original concept and intention behind the design.

A project I designed back in 2005 while studying Architecture at CUAAD, Universidad de Guadalajara.

This proposal was created as part of an Architectural Composition class, envisioning a new home for UdeG TV across from the University's Rectory Building and next to the MUSA Museum.

The building was designed to include UdeG TV offices, production spaces, a 100-seat auditorium, and a double-height entrance gallery that could also function as a multipurpose exhibition space.

Although it was never built, revisiting the project after more than 20 years and recreating it with today's visualization tools has been a very rewarding experience. It's exciting to see how ideas from university can still feel relevant and inspiring today.

Revisiting one of the projects we had the opportunity to contribute to, these renderings highlight Zeed Night Club, designed by LVS Architecture in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, México.

Developed in close collaboration with the design team, this work focused on translating their vision into immersive visualizations that capture the atmosphere, lighting, and energy of the space. The goal was to convey the nightclub’s identity through mood, materiality, and dynamic spatial experiences prior to construction.

Our role was centered on producing high-quality renderings that communicate the design intent while enhancing how the project is perceived by clients and stakeholders.

Always rewarding to collaborate with teams that value strong concepts, attention to detail, and expressive architectural design.

Revisiting one of the residential projects we had the opportunity to contribute to, this series showcases a private residence designed by Martinez Sayeg Arquitectos.

Developed in close collaboration with the design team, our work focused on translating their architectural vision into clear and compelling visual narratives. The project reflects a strong emphasis on spatial continuity, natural light, and material contrast, balancing openness with a sense of privacy through carefully articulated façade elements.

Our scope was centered on producing high-quality architectural visualizations that communicate the design intent and overall character of the residence, supporting both design development and client presentations.

Always a pleasure collaborating with teams that bring clarity, intention, and strong architectural identity to their work.
