🇪🇺🇲🇽 Mexico just changed its economic future — and most people don't know it yet.
After 66 years of collaboration and a deal that was years in the making, Mexico and the European Union officially sealed a landmark agreement today at the 8th EU-Mexico Summit — with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Council President António Costa, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum all present at the signing table.
📊 The numbers:
• €207 billion in EU investment in Mexico
• 5.7 million jobs created by EU companies in Mexico
• +35% projected trade growth over the next 5 years
• 11,000+ European companies operating in Mexico
This isn't just a trade deal. This is Mexico planting a flag as a global economic power.
The new agreement eliminates the majority of remaining tariffs and expands into services, digital trade, government procurement, investment, and agriculture — sectors the old 2000 agreement never touched.
The agenda covers green energy, railways, health systems, critical minerals, and the rule of law. This is the kind of partnership that reshapes supply chains and creates generational opportunity.
At a time when the world is fragmenting, Mexico chose to build bridges. 🌎
