A pair of artisans bent over a vast section of Norman Bel Geddes’ celebrated Futurama exhibit at the 1939 New York World’s Fair.
Crafted for General Motors, the scene captures workers installing or refining part of the massive scale model—a meticulously engineered “city of the future” that spanned over 35,000 sq ft, included more than 500,000 buildings, a million trees, and 50,000 miniature vehicles.
