Three questions we get every week.

Does it eat salt? The 12 litre model uses from 0.8 kg per regeneration in its low capacity setting. It is not a weekly job.

What does it cost to run? Very little. Salt is the main running cost, and both models are built for low salt consumption.

Where does it go? It is one compact cabinet with the resin and salt tank in the same body. It fits in a cupboard or a washroom, and it can be installed outside where there is no room indoors.

Plugged into a household socket, a car charges at a trickle, and the socket spends hours at a time doing a job it was never designed for.

A wallbox is the fix. We supply 7kW and 22kW smart units with a Type 2 socket and a 5 metre cable from €500, plus portable 7kW and 22kW units with a CEE plug for when you are charging away from home. What your car will actually draw depends on the car and on your supply, so an electrician sizes it with you before anything is ordered.

Every extra stage is another job the system is doing, not automatically better water coming out of it.

5 stage. The standard build. Lower mineral content in the finished water, clean and flat.
6 stage. One step up from the 5. Some mineral content put back into the water, without going as far as the 7.
7 stage. Higher mineral content, closer to the taste of the bottled still water you already buy.
8 stage. Adds a UV lamp, which deals with bacteria rather than with taste.

So it comes down to taste and to what you are feeding it. If the property runs off its own well or a private tank, the UV stage is the one that matters.

Every panel on your roof produces direct current, and nothing in your house can use it until the inverter converts it. That one box decides how much of what your roof generates you actually get to use, and it is the component most likely to need replacing before the panels do.

Ours carry a 10 year warranty. When you are lining up quotes, that line deserves more of your attention than the panel count does.
