An important safety update has been issued by Petzl regarding ASTRO and CANYON GUIDE harnesses manufactured before October 2023 🧗‍♂️⚠️

User feedback identified premature wear on the screws of the gated ventral attachment point. In certain high lateral load situations, this could cause the ventral D-ring pin to release, potentially leading to the attachment point opening unintentionally.

To prevent any risk, Petzl is asking for a mandatory replacement of the metal ventral D-ring and screws using a free replacement kit supplied through their after-sales service 🛠️

Harnesses affected include:
• ASTRO & CANYON GUIDE models sold before October 2023
• Units with serial numbers below 23J 9999999 999

The latest ASTRO and ASTRO SIT versions sold since February 2025 are not affected, and no injuries have been reported to date ✅
