Natural Gas Emergency Power in Environmentally Protected Areas
🌿PRAMAC has successfully completed the installation of a GGW500G natural gas-powered emergency generator at the hospital in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, located in southern France. Because the facility is situated within a protected Natura 2000 area, local authorities permitted natural gas as the sole fuel source due to strict environmental constraints. This solution helps eliminate the risk of ground contamination or fuel leaks, produces zero particulate emissions, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 20% compared to equivalent diesel generators.
⚡Technical Highlights:
🔹 Grid Connection: Connected directly to the gas utility grid (no on-site fuel storage needed).
🔹Capacity: Delivers 500 kVA Emergency Standby Power (ESP) and 450 kVA Prime Power (PRP).
🔹Response: Engineered to achieve full load capacity in under 10 seconds to support critical healthcare operations.
🛡️ Compliance & Safety:
Housed in a soundproof protective enclosure to minimize acoustic impact, the installation is fully compliant with the French standard NFE 37-312 and has been approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for life-safety applications.
This project demonstrates how gas-fueled technology can effectively reconcile stringent environmental preservation standards with the high reliability required by critical healthcare infrastructure.
