Ready to roll.

A full truckload of REBARMAT GFRP mesh rolls prepared for dispatch. One of our regular shipments, and a brief view of the day-to-day work at our production facility.

For our customers, this is part of a construction schedule. For us, it is the routine responsibility of manufacturing: consistent quality, agreed quantities and delivery on time.

We are genuinely pleased to see Latvijas Betona savienība - Latvian Concrete association highlighting FRP RC Studio and the growing possibilities of GFRP reinforcement.

Recognition from such a technically rigorous and respected organisation means a great deal. It shows a welcome readiness within the established concrete industry to examine new materials and design methods with professional curiosity.

The conversation will continue at BATIMAT Paris 2026, where the European Rebar Council will present FRP RC Studio at the REBARMAT stand within Latvia’s national pavilion. Our participation is supported by LIAA.

This is what meaningful industry cooperation looks like: established institutions, practical expertise and the confidence to explore what comes next.

Technical rigour. Constructive collaboration. European ambition.

Paris, we are coming—and we are bringing GFRP with us. 🇱🇻🇫🇷

At the annual meeting of the European Rebar Council in Barcelona, ASDEA presented FRP RC Studio — new software that makes it far easier for engineers to design and check concrete structures built with GFRP reinforcement.

For years the material itself was never the obstacle — the challenge was that engineers lacked accessible, purpose-built tools to work with it confidently. This helps close that gap. And the easier GFRP is to design with, the more its durability can be put to work: corrosion-free structures that last longer and need less upkeep.

Our thanks to Guido Camata and the ASDEA team for building it and sharing it with the whole industry — and to the European Rebar Council for bringing work like this together.

This week I was in Barcelona for the annual meeting of the European Rebar Council — and I came away genuinely proud of how far both our industry and our company have come.

The Council brings together the people shaping the future of composite reinforcement — a light, corrosion-free material that helps concrete structures last far longer, with far less maintenance. It’s a real privilege to serve as its Vice-Chair, and this week Jan Nowikow, who leads our technical work, and I represented REBARMAT alongside colleagues from across the world who care as much about doing this properly as we do.

Two things stood out. New design software, unveiled at the meeting, finally gives engineers the tools they need to work with this material with confidence. And real progress on European standards — CE marking and rigorous, ongoing quality control — the unglamorous foundations that turn a good product into one people can trust.

That word — trust — is what stayed with me. The shared commitment in the room was to build our case on evidence: verified data, honest comparisons, real accountability, rather than hype. That’s been REBARMAT’s conviction from the start: accountability before ambition.

The future of reinforcement is light, corrosion-free, lower-carbon, and built to last a century. This week left me more certain than ever that we’re helping to build it — and to build it right.

Those cracks in concrete this summer are not a heatwave problem.

They are a heatwave reveal.

The damage started years earlier — at the steel rebar, inside the concrete, invisibly. Heat accelerates corrosion. Corrosion products expand to up to six times the volume of the original steel. That expansion drives outward through the cover. What you see on the surface is the end of a process that began the moment moisture first reached the bar.

GFRP reinforcement does not have this mechanism.

No electrochemical reaction. No expansion. No compounding damage. Moisture reaches the bar and stops.

The structures deteriorating this summer were built with the best available materials at the time. The question for structures being designed now is whether we specify the same outcome or a different one.

Thank you to Latvijas Betona savienība - Latvian Concrete association for the acknowledgment and welcome.

Joining the association feels like a natural step. It brings us into a professional environment where materials and design decisions are discussed with clarity and technical grounding.

We will contribute where our experience is relevant, and we look forward to the exchange with colleagues across the field.

At the Toronto Building Expo, we shared a brief — slightly light-hearted — 20-second address.
A small moment, but a deliberate one: REBARMAT stepping into the Canadian market.

We arrived having just expanded our production capacity, ready for conversations shaped by durability, performance, and real climate demands.

Toronto has a way of making priorities clear.
Engineering substance is not a preference here — it’s expected.

The message was brief. The commitment behind it is not.

With sincere thanks to Latvijas Investīciju un attīstības aģentūra - LIAA, Ilze Lacgalve, Michael Kwadrans and Ingus Rozenblats — your support was felt.

🇱🇻🤝🇦🇪 Latvia in the UAE — from dialogue to direction

Pleased to be part of the Latvian business delegation in the UAE and to see strong, practical interest in Latvian expertise across advanced materials, infrastructure, energy, and digital solution alongside our Minister Viktors Valainis Latvijas Investīciju un attīstības aģentūra - LIAAViktors ValainisEkonomikas ministrija

At REBARMAT / HMP Group, discussions around durability, corrosion-free reinforcement, and lifecycle-based infrastructure clearly resonated in the region.

Thank you to Arnis Celitāns for the leadership and coordination, and to our UAE counterparts for a focused dialogue.

I was honoured to receive a VIP invitation to Big 5 Global, where discussions continued through a series of highly productive meetings — including engagement with key Saudi industrial stakeholders and national initiatives supporting local manufacturing and infrastructure development.
