A long-standing partnership continued in Hong Kong!

Last week, representatives of The Penki Kontinentai Group visited Hong Kong to attend a special event hosted by SUNMI Technology, dedicated to the company’s official listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The Group was represented by Idrakas Dadašovas, Chairman of the Board of Penki Kontinentai, and Zorzas Sarafanovicius, Executive Director of ASHBURN International.

For SUNMI, this milestone marks an important step in its growth and global development. For partners, it highlights the value of long-term cooperation — bringing technology closer to real business needs and driving digital transformation, guided by SUNMI’s Altruism Journey.

As Lin Jack, CEO of SUNMI, noted in his speech: “We connect the world through IoT, empower merchants with AI, and transform real business data into trusted digital assets through RWA. We are building a new digital credit order — not limited to one company but designed for merchants globally. Because every small business deserves a fair and meaningful future in this new order.”

For Penki Kontinentai Group, the partnership with SUNMI is built on practical value and trust. Through BS/2 solutions and ASHBURN International, we apply SUNMI solutions in areas where reliability, integration quality, payment infrastructure, and market understanding are essential, maintaining SUNMI Authorized Partner status for the third consecutive year.

We are pleased to continue this partnership with SUNMI and its partner network, and we look forward to further developing solutions that support businesses in their digital transformation.

Back from Intersect Cannes 2026, inspired and ready to act 🚀

Intersect Cannes 2026 has come to an end, and as always, we return not just with impressions, but with ideas shaped by real conversations and shared experiences.

This year’s event once again proved its value as a space where partners, clients, and industry leaders meet openly — to exchange perspectives, discuss challenges, and learn from each other across markets.

BS/2 attended together with our invited guests — Anvar Irchaev, Chairman of the Bank Council of JSCB Universal bank (Uzbekistan); Mashxurbek
Madaminjonov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of PJSB Trustbank (Uzbekistan); Sherzod Mirzaakhmedov, Manager of the Namangan banking services office at PJSB Trustbank (Uzbekistan); and Madona Tsulaia, Deputy Retail Banking Director at TBC Bank (Georgia). Being there as a joint delegation made it possible not only to follow discussions, but to reflect on them together and translate insights into practical thinking.

Throughout the event, our delegation was supported by Diebold Nixdorf’s senior leadership for the region, including Javinder Singh Gill, Vice President, Global Banking Product Management, Vice President for Asia, Middle East and Africa, and Charisma Mahajan, Head of Banking Product Sales for APAC and CEE. Their involvement once again highlights the strength of our long-term partnership and the close collaboration we continue to build across regions.

For us, this is what Intersect is really about. It reflects the level of trust, partnership, and shared direction we have developed with Diebold Nixdorf over more than 30 years — and why we continue to come back every year together with our clients.

One of the key themes across sessions was the growing role of artificial intelligence in banking and how it is being integrated into everyday processes.
As our Deputy CEO of Commerce, Nikolajs Želņins, noted: “Artificial intelligence is already becoming part of banks’ daily operations. However, its real value comes from how effectively it is applied. The human remains the key decision-maker — setting the rules and using technology to enhance efficiency, not replace it.”

Thank you to our partners, clients, and the Diebold Nixdorf team for the open dialogue and shared insights!

Today, we celebrate an important milestone – a quarter-century of our journey 🎉

On April 24, we officially mark 25 years. However, this is more of a milestone date than a true beginning, as our story in banking technologies started much earlier – as a division within the Penki Kontinentai company.

In 1995, Penki Kontinentai was granted partner status by the global banking technology manufacturer Wincor Nixdorf (now Diebold Nixdorf). That same year, the first 60 Wincor Nixdorf ATMs were introduced in Lithuania for Vilniaus Bankas (now SEB) – among the very first ATMs in the country.

This stage laid a strong foundation for further growth. As expertise developed and market potential became evident, in 2002 Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos (BS/2) was established as a dedicated company focused on banking technologies.

Since then, our journey has been defined by consistent growth, bold decisions, and a clear direction. Over the years, we have grown into an international company operating across multiple markets, delivering innovative banking and fintech solutions and creating value for our clients every day. Today, our focus is clearer than ever – technologies that shape the future of the financial ecosystem.

And there is a certain symbolism in this moment. On the very day we celebrate this milestone, our Commercial Director, Nikolajs Želņins, is attending the Intersect Forum in Cannes, hosted by Diebold Nixdorf – a partner that has been an integral part of our journey for nearly 30 years.

This is no coincidence. It is a sign of a stable and consistently growing business. A sign that strong partnerships create long-term value. That we are moving in the right direction. And that our story is only gaining momentum.

We sincerely thank our clients for their trust, our partners for their collaboration and shared growth, and our team for their professionalism and dedication. Just move forward – bolder, stronger, and further than ever 🚀

BS/2 at Intersect Cannes 2026 — kicking off today!

As mentioned earlier, we're proud to be part of Intersect Cannes 2026, the international banking and financial technology forum organized by Diebold Nixdorf, taking place April 22–24 in Cannes, France.

This year, at our long-time partners’ event, BS/2 is represented by Nikolajs Želņins , Deputy CEO of Commerce, together with partners and invited guests — including representatives from Uzbekistan’s Trustbank and JSCB Universalbank, as well as Georgia's TBC Bank. They are all participating in a high-level business program focused on the future of banking technology.

Intersect serves as a platform for sharing practical insights, strengthening strategic partnerships, and shaping the future of banking — and BS/2 is proud to be part of it once again.

What's on the agenda?

Today begins with a Pre-Conference Workshop — "Banking Beyond Today: Shaping Payments and Banking Journeys for the Next Chapter". An interactive session led by industry experts, focusing on payments innovation, digital customer journeys, and omnichannel banking experiences.

Over the next three days, Intersect Cannes will bring together senior banking executives and industry leaders to explore:
✦ Seamless customer journeys & smarter operational efficiency
✦ The future of cash in a digital-first world
✦ ATM network innovations & managed services
✦ AI-powered retail and self-service experiences
✦ Sustainable and resilient banking infrastructure
✦ Real-time payments & financial inclusion
✦ Diebold Nixdorf's vision and strategy for the banking industry

Speakers include banking leaders from Barclays, U.S. Bank, Capitec Bank, Geldmaat, Poste Italiane, K&H Bank, and many others — alongside Diebold Nixdorf's top executive team.

Stay tuned for updates from the event — we’ll be sharing key highlights along the way! 👇

Today, BS/2 Estonia turns 20. We’re really happy to celebrate this moment together 🎉🎈

Over the years, the team has become a trusted partner for nearly all major banks in Estonia, ensuring the smooth operation of close to 300 ATMs and around 3,000 payment terminals across the country. With five regional service centers, they play a key role in keeping everyday financial services running reliably. For a team of just 12 people, this level of responsibility is truly significant!

One of the standout moments in this journey was contributing to Estonia’s transition to the euro in 2011 — a complex and highly responsible project that earned recognition from Danske Bank leadership.

Still, what truly defines BS/2 Estonia is not just scale or experience, but the people behind it. A small, close-knit team whose reliability, commitment to quality, and customer-first mindset have built long-term trust with clients.

Happy anniversary to our colleagues in Estonia, and thank you for being such an important part of the BS/2 story. Here’s to what’s next 🎉

An ATM accessible to everyone – voice guidance for visually impaired users✨🎧

BS/2, together with its long-term partner JSCB "Kapitalbank", has been implementing a voice-guided ATM solution as part of the bank’s “Equal Opportunities” accessibility initiative in Uzbekistan. The initiative brings together a range of solutions aimed at improving access to banking services for people with disabilities, including branch infrastructure, customer service, and self-service channels.

As part of this project, voice-assisted cash withdrawal is already available on 300 JSCB "Kapitalbank" ATMs. The service enables visually impaired users to complete transactions independently, without relying on sight or external assistance.

How it works:
→ The ATM detects when a person is standing nearby and informs them that voice guidance is available
→ The user connects headphones and is guided through the transaction step by step
→ Audio tracks are available in Uzbek, Russian, and English
→ The screen switches to privacy mode during the session

The project continues to evolve, with both the ATM network and the solution’s capabilities being steadily expanded. Developed and tested in collaboration with a visually impaired user and with the involvement of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the solution is designed to reflect real-life usage scenarios rather than purely technical logic. It builds on previously deployed experience in Kazakhstan and Georgia, adapted to Kapitalbank’s infrastructure and local requirements, and is being implemented by colleagues from BS/2 Kazakhstan.

Also, the initiative is gaining visibility locally, with bloggers and creators in Uzbekistan sharing their experiences and highlighting how these solutions work in practice. One such example comes from Samarkand, where blogger and creator Nikita Makarenko reviewed the ATM functionality in one of Kapitalbank’s branches. You can watch the review below.

ATM threats are no longer isolated incidents?
They are becoming a constant pressure on daily operations.

More sophisticated, less predictable, and often detected too late, they expose the limits of traditional security approaches.

For many banks, the challenge is no longer technology, but visibility and speed of response. Without real-time insight, even small incidents can escalate quickly. This is where smarter monitoring makes the difference.

See how this can be addressed in the carousel and how ATMeye .iQ NG helps you stay in control.

At EuroShop2026, hardware met software – BS/2 team visited Magner International Corp.’s booth and discussed key details around our ongoing cooperation and next steps 🚀

At the stand, Magner showcased its premium cash counting and sorting series – Magner 3500, 2000, and 1500 – designed to support seamless cash handling across teller lines and back offices. The portfolio addresses the needs of banks, cash centers, CIT companies, exchange offices, and retailers, offering reliable equipment for different operational scenarios reflecting Magner’s positioning as “Your expert partner in cash processing.”

Our colleagues spent time at the stand reviewing the cash counting and sorting equipment Magner brought to the show. The key topic was how to scale cooperation across Eurasia with clearer processes, predictable results, and consistent standards for daily cash operations. Thanks to Grant Nilsen, President at Magner International, Wade Brunner, Vice-President, and PING Qian, Sales Manager, for a focused and straightforward conversation.

We talked about what matters in real operations: stable processing, clear controls, and reporting that works across multiple locations. Cash Processing .iQ is part of the Cash Management .iQ platform and is designed to automate and control cash handling workflows, while keeping processing parameters in a single database. Because it integrates with Magner equipment, teams can connect machine operations with centralized monitoring and reporting. We also agreed on the direction for expanding joint projects and making these scenarios easier to deploy in retail and fintech environments.

Meetings like this are valuable when they end with a clear roadmap. We’re looking forward to turning the discussions into concrete next steps together with Magner in 2026.
