Some goodies arrived today. A nice treat for a large BMW tool kit in the boot. At the moment sold as a complete kit, but it will soon be available as individual items in my webshop. Damn how I like new old stuff.

BMW E34 rejuvenation. Pure restoration at its best, when new material is no longer available, but a second-hand unit has a chance of a new life, means exactly that. And yet again - something I have never tried doing in the past.

I've been looking after this little bullet E36 323i Compact for years now. But not always. Three expansion tanks were replaced after a false diagnosis. In the end, it turned out the radiator had given up and by the looks of it still from the factory.

Final touches to brilliant E34 525iA. Sailed through inspection with flying colours. Off it goes to the owner until next season. More in the comments with the pictures.

Not an ordinary visit, but it's something that got my attention. The number plate already speaks for itself - it's a James Bond Edition vehicle. There were a few issues the customer complained about. First - an alarm system fault, a boot lid intermittent fault and a very annoying door strut failure. The doors don't stay open and getting in or out of the car is becoming a nightmare. OK, I said, leave it with me. After some digging and reading, I got a lot sorted. Comparing prices at the dealer, I managed to source out parts for a fraction of the cost and literally saved the owner thousands. At the same time, I learned something new. Never a dull day. All the comments, as usual, with the pictures.

Remember that Brilliant red E34? Isn't it brilliant? Well I spent a good few weeks waiting for parts and last night finished it off. Will be booking it for a technical inspection. After a health check, a few bushings had to be replaced and a link - nothing major. And I found a coolant leak, a very common issue. First I thought it was an expansion tank seal, but it turned out the rad was shot. Long story short, go through the pictures for a more detailed overview.

I had a busy and late weekend sorting out 540i. Both front windows are fixed and go up and down as new. The valley pan bolt that was snapped got drilled out by a professional, as I thought I'll mess up the engine block by doing it myself. So valley pan is back in its place. Both sides of the valve cover gaskets looked cooked, so I went to replace them. You'll see the underside of those two before and after some elbow grease and a lot of scrubbing. So while I was in there, I've decided to check the camshaft timing. Borrowed a special tool for the job and those turned out in full spec. What a relief. So after I did those covers and all the gaskets, the final check-up was done to the cylinder walls, which also turned out to be in great shape. One final reassembly before I go and butcher the oil pan to check the condition of the oil pump and the chain for any slack. Stay tuned.

A new arrival at the workshop. I'd say this car would be a perfect match for me. One of my favourite colours, 2.5 petrol engine, automatic transmission. Ticks all the right boxes. Unfortunately, this beauty ran out of technical inspection. Expect more updates after I get it on the ramp. I was told it's not driven during winter🥰

A bit of a spruce up for this daily driven E34. A new front wing with a respray, fixed the rotten part of a sill in the back, new wheel bolts due to an incomprehensible tire change shop and finally repainted the rear tailgate spoiler as it got replaced from another vehicle and was tampered with in the past. Nevermind a failed thermostat with a water pump 🤦‍♂️
