Modulina Straw Panels

In June 2026, the Rebuild Green 2030 programme took part in the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels — and our shared Ukrainian stand was selected among only a small number of exhibitions for an official visit by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and António Costa, President of the European Council.

For this special occasion, we prepared a symbolic gift: a Modulina cube bearing the inscription: “From the creators of Rebuild Green 2030 to the initiators of the New European Bauhaus. Brussels, June 2026.”

Among the selected exhibitions, there was only one Ukrainian stand. It was jointly presented by: Rebuild Green 2030 by FIABCI-Ukraine, СИНХРО ПРОСТІР and Modulina Straw Panels together with the Circular Lab Ukraine programme by .

We had the honour of representing not only Ukraine, but also one of the most sustainable and climate-relevant construction solutions — prefabricated straw panels.

We also presented a programme that, through joint Lithuanian-Ukrainian efforts, has already united participants and partners from more than 20 Ukrainian communities and 16 countries around a shared vision of sustainable, resilient, and climate-conscious reconstruction.

We are deeply proud that Rebuild Green 2030 received recognition and attention at such a high institutional level. We believe this milestone will bring us closer to securing the strategic partnerships, institutional support, and grant funding required to expand the programme and turn more innovative concepts into real projects for Ukrainian communities.

Our work continues.

We are now welcoming participants to the second Rebuild Green Hackathon 2026, bringing together communities, architects, engineers, sustainable-material producers, experts, students and international partners.

Registration is already open:

Let us rebuild green — together.

🌾 What if the walls of your home could store carbon instead of creating it?
For more than a century, we’ve accepted that homes should be built from concrete, steel and synthetic insulation.
But what if one of the world’s oldest agricultural materials turned out to be one of the smartest building materials for the future?
Straw.
Not loose straw bales.
Not experimental architecture.
We’re talking about engineered prefabricated straw panels that combine structural timber with highly compressed straw insulation to create buildings that are:
✓ energy efficient
✓ breathable
✓ low-carbon
✓ comfortable all year round
✓ manufactured off-site for faster installation
Every panel stores carbon that plants have already captured from the atmosphere, helping transform buildings from major CO₂ emitters into long-term carbon storage.
Nature has already done the hard work.
We’re simply building with it.
At Modulina, we believe sustainable construction shouldn’t require sacrificing performance, aesthetics or construction speed. Modern engineering and natural materials can work together.
The construction industry is responsible for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions.
Changing how we build may be one of the biggest climate opportunities of our generation.
The question isn’t whether bio-based construction is possible.
The question is:
How long can we afford to keep building the old way?
👇 We’d love to hear your thoughts.
Would you consider living in a home insulated with natural straw panels?
Save this post for future reference and share it with someone interested in sustainable architecture, passive houses or low-carbon construction.

✨

In the wake of conflict and devastation, the city of Bucha, Ukraine, is finding ways to heal and rebuild. One of the most inspiring initiatives to emerge from this process is the Bucha Forest Classroom, a project supported by Climate KIC as part of the EIT Community New European Bauhaus (NEB).

✨“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”✨ - Genesis 2:15

Building homes has always been about responsibility:
▫️to the land
▫️to people
▫️to what comes after us

“Even Jesus was born on straw”
- a thought that was shared by one of our partners — thank you for a reminder that touched us deeply… and
it stayed with us.

Caring for the land has always been part of how we build, live, and move forward.

Wishing our community a warm, peaceful Christmas and may your homes be full of light, care, and quiet moments that truly matter🫂🩵
