The Liberian Women in Engineering joins the global community in observance of International Women in Engineering Day under the
THEME, “Engineering Intelligence.”
On this important occasion, the Executive Committee of Liberian Women in Engineering an auxiliary of the Engineering Society of Liberia extends sincere commendation to women engineers in Liberia and across the globe whose knowledge, discipline, and innovation continue to advance national development and human progress. This day serves as a reminder of the crucial role of women in engineering and of the urgent responsibility to strengthen inclusion within the engineering profession.
The theme, “Engineering Intelligence,” highlights the power of engineering to shape practical and sustainable solutions to the challenges of our time. It also affirms the value of the expertise, leadership, and ingenuity that women bring to the profession in areas critical to infrastructure, technology, energy, water and sanitation, maritime, environmental sustainability, industrial growth etc.
For Liberia, this observance carries profound national importance. As we work to expand opportunity and accelerate development, we must remain deliberate in encouraging girls and young women to pursue studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
We must also foster professional environments in which women engineers are empowered to contribute fully and lead confidently.
The Liberian Women in Engineering reaffirms its commitment to advancing mentorship, professional development, advocacy, and equal opportunity for women in the engineering sector. We recognize that a more inclusive engineering profession is essential to building a stronger, more innovative, and more prosperous Liberia.
As we commemorate this day, the Executive Committee calls upon public institutions, educational leaders, private sector partners, and the wider community to support initiatives that promote the participation and advancement of women.
