History
All Ceylon Engineering Diplomats Association (ACEDA) was transformed to a professional body in 1992 by an Act of parliament act No: 64 of 1992 of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka under the name Institution of Engineering Diplomates, Sri Lanka (IEDSL). Thereafter in keeping with the international standards of professional engineering societies of similar nature, IEDSL was renamed
as the Institution of Incorporated Engineers, Sri Lanka (IIESL) in the year 2000 by an Act of parliament thus, gaining due recognition for the members locally and internationally as well. During past 34 years the Institution gained a rapid progress and the success of this achievement is due to the team work, and also the commitment, sacrifice and hard work of all Past Presidents, Council members and the general membership. We, as the professional body of Incorporated Engineers, who are managing & operating Engineering Technology in the country, have the mandate to develop professionalism among the members. During the present time of rapid economic & global changes, we find ourselves challenged very often to maintain our professional integrity and standards of conduct in professional activities and business activities. IIESL has had a comparatively great number of successes. We are proud of the successful series of City & Guilds Graduation Ceremonies & INCO premier Industrial Exhibition and Trade Fair and the very successful and informative Technical Sessions. The IIESL Toastmasters club was established with the objective of providing an opportunity to the IIESL members to develop their communication leadership skills. We are proud to announce that during the relatively short period of existance the IIESL Toastmasters club has produced number of leaders with multitude of achievements.
