Soil Infiltration Testing for Better Wastewater Disposal Planning

CETEC (PVT) LTD provides soil infiltration testing using the Double Ring Infiltrometer method.

This test helps identify how fast soil can absorb water and is commonly used to check whether treated effluent can be discharged through ground soaking as a final disposal option.

It also helps estimate the land area required for irrigation or controlled disposal of treated wastewater, which is important for wastewater projects, site planning, and EIA/IEE studies.

Sri Lankan-Engineered Anaerobic Tank Cover System for Industrial Wastewater Treatment

At CETEC (PVT) LTD, we are proud to share one of our locally developed wastewater treatment innovations — an anaerobic tank cover system designed and field-proven in Sri Lanka.

This solution has been successfully used in an operating wastewater treatment plants for more than 3 years, supporting practical and reliable anaerobic treatment performance.

The system is designed to help industries manage key challenges such as:

✅ Prevention of rainwater entering treatment tanks
✅ Reduced wastewater surface exposure

CETEC (PVT) LTD is proud to be involved in the development of one of the largest effluent treatment plants for a crepe rubber factory in Sri Lanka.

Rubber processing is a key industry in Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, and Africa. However, rubber wastewater is highly challenging due to its high organic load, suspended solids, odour issues, sludge generation, and environmental compliance requirements.

We are proud to announce another milestone in our journey to strengthen China–Sri Lanka collaboration for safe community drinking water.

Together with the Sinopec Clear Spring CSR Project, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and ,CETEC Sri Lanka we have begun installing a new generation of Nano-Filtration (NF) drinking water treatment stations across regions of Sri Lanka.

These advanced units are designed to ensure:
🔹 Safe and reliable drinking water
🔹 Retention of essential minerals
🔹 Lower energy consumption
🔹 Minimal wastewater generation
🔹 Higher recovery rates — ideal for water-scarce areas
🔹 Stable performance under fluctuating groundwater conditions

NF technology provides a balanced, efficient, and sustainable solution for rural communities—avoiding many long-standing challenges seen in traditional high-pressure purification technologies, and offering a smarter path toward long-term water security.

This initiative is part of our shared commitment to build a healthier, cleaner, and more resilient Sri Lanka, one community at a time.
