Our team is currently carrying out a ground improvement project at the Maligawatta Sewage Pump Station in Colombo to facilitate the installation of a pipeline 10m below ground level.

The work involves drilling boreholes up to 11m depth using a drilling rig and performing pressure grouting with grout pumps. Despite the complex ground conditions and challenging working environment, nearly 50% of the work has been successfully completed, and the remaining work is progressing according to a well-planned ex*****on strategy.

This progress is a result of the strong commitment, teamwork, and dedication of our entire staff working tirelessly on-site.

RMC Geo Lab (Pvt) Ltd proudly announces the successful completion of a comprehensive geotechnical investigation for the Proposed Hotel and Apartment Complex Project at Port City Marina. The scope included 28 boreholes, advanced laboratory testing, and a detailed geophysical survey, executed to the highest industry standards.

One of the most demanding challenges of the project was coring through a complex underlying boulder pack, which the RMC team tackled with exceptional precision and efficiency utilizing five high-performance drilling rigs to overcome the geological difficulties. The ground behaviour with multiple layering with interbedded compressible layers and depth variation of bed rock across the site, consisting of moderately fractured and foliated gneissic rocks characteristic of the Wanni Complex, will be challenging in engineering design.

The project is being developed by Zhongtian Construction Group Co. Ltd, a top-tier high-rise construction specialist with an international reputation for excellence. The structural design is being led by CSEC, recognized as Sri Lanka’s foremost expert in high-rise engineering solutions.

This collaboration marks another milestone in RMC’s commitment to delivering excellence in geotechnical services for iconic and technically demanding developments.

RMC Geo Lab Pvt Ltd successfully completed the geotechnical investigation project for proposed re construction of Siri Kurusa bridge on ST. Nicholas Road at Negombo. Eight numbers of boreholes were in the scope and four of them were in water logged lagoon areas. Depth of the water column up to the lagoon bed was approximately thirty feet. Because of the heavy water flow through the narrow water-logged area, the RMC engineering team realized that the barge or pontoon is not suitable for conducting the drilling in water.

Accordingly, a scaffolding platform was proposed to be constructed on lagoon and with the extreme dedication of RMC drilling group, Engineering team and supervisors, work was finished successfully.

RMC Geo Lab Pvt Ltd has intended to provide rock slope stability analysis and design for the southern expressway extension project, section 1 on 2019 at Beliatta. CATIC ENGINEERING was the client, and RMC Geo Lab provided several stability methods with properly analyzed design.
There were several unstable potions with steep slopes in the subjected area. Therefore, the analysis of RMR, GSI, geological mapping, borehole investigation data analysis, soil slope stability analysis with geo-slope, and many more technical aspects are used to provide the best output.
