Do NOT remove the thermostat from your car. The thermostat is a vital valve located deep within your car’s cooling system. Its main function is to regulate the amount of coolant that is recirculated back into the engine and how much is cooled via the radiator prior to being recirculated and so by extension regulating the engine operating temperature somewhere between 75-90°c for optimum performance.

COOLANT vs WATER
There are three main benefits of using coolant in your car.

• Coolant has anti corrosion properties and so extends the lifespan of the parts in the cooling system by preventing clogging.

• Coolant mixed with water at a ratio of 1:1 has a higher boiling point than water at about 223°F. This means you can survive costly damage in case of an overheating situation.

• Coolant is also an antifreeze much appreciated in winter weather.

If you opt to use water alone, you will not have the benefits listed above. But please note that water also does cooling.

Nothing puts off potential clients like having idlers at your shop. Clients want a safe space to shop without the glaring eyes and knowing looks of idlers.
