Today, I would like to talk about something very important to our homes, our community, and our future — water.
Water is life. We use it for drinking, cooking, cleaning, farming, construction, and almost everything we do daily. Yet, many times, we waste it without even noticing.
Water wastage happens when clean water is lost through leaking taps, burst pipes, overflowing tanks, unattended running hoses, or careless usage. In many areas, especially in growing cities like Nairobi, burst pipes can flow the whole night, flooding roads and wasting thousands of litres before repairs are done. That is not just water lost — it is money lost, resources lost, and life-support lost.
When we waste water:
We increase water bills.
We reduce supply for other families.
We strain water companies and infrastructure.
We risk future shortages.
We damage roads and property through flooding.
But the good news is — we can all be part of the solution.
💧 How Can We Save Water?
1. Repair leaking taps and pipes immediately.
2. Turn off taps while brushing teeth or washing dishes.
3. Install water-saving fittings.
4. Monitor water tanks to avoid overflow.
5. Report burst pipes in your area quickly.
6. Reuse water where possible, such as using rinse water for cleaning floors.
7. Educate children and neighbors about responsible water use.
Saving water is not only the responsibility of water companies. It is a shared duty. Every drop saved today secures tomorrow.
Let us remember:
If we waste water today, we may walk miles for it tomorrow.
Together, let us protect, preserve, and respect water — because water is lifeFundiMaji Original & Hardware LtdtdNairobi Water CompanynyKangemi Family Reloaded -Rmk Chapterer
