One single mistake in construction can cost you a fortune.
This client did almost everything right. He planned ahead, budgeted well, and ordered his door frames early. Sounds like a smart move, right?
Well, not always.
The frames were purchased before plastering was done. They were not installed, but they sat on site waiting for the walls to be completed. During that time, two things happened.
First, the final wall dimensions changed after plastering. The openings became slightly smaller than anticipated, meaning the frames that had been made earlier were now too big.
Second, construction continued around them. Cement splashes, dust, and site handling left stains on the beautiful timber.
What looked like good planning suddenly became an expensive lesson.
We had to resize the frames to fit the finished openings and carefully sand them down to remove the cement stains and restore their original beauty. More work. More time. More cost.
Construction has a funny way of humbling even the best planners. Sometimes rushing to buy materials before the building reaches the right stage can create problems that didn’t exist in the first place.
The good news? Quality timber can often be rescued by skilled hands.
And that’s exactly what we did.
At Olet Hardware, we don’t just manufacture doors and frames. We guide our clients on when to buy, what to buy, and how to protect their investment throughout the construction journey.
Because a beautiful home is built not only with quality materials, but also with good timing.
