"Nyathina, chak achaka."

If you grew up in a Luo home, you've probably heard these words before.

They loosely translate to:

"My child, just start."

This wasn't an instruction to finish everything immediately. It was encouragement to take the first step.

Whether building a home, paying school fees, buying livestock, or starting a business, our elders understood that progress often begins by simply starting.

The same is true in mining.

Many prospectors visit our office, experience the Garrett Axiom, and leave convinced it is the right machine. The biggest challenge is rarely choosing the detector.

It's raising the full amount at once.

Meanwhile, every month you wait may be another month of unanswered signals, unexplored quartz veins, and opportunities left behind.

That is why we accept instalment purchases.

You can begin your Garrett Axiom ownership journey with a minimum 5% initial deposit and continue building towards full ownership.

The first instalment doesn't mean you've finished.

It means you've started.

It means you've moved from "one day" to "I'm already on the journey."

If owning a Garrett Axiom is part of your mining plan this year, don't wait for the perfect moment.

As our elders would say:

"Nyathina, chak achaka."
"My child, just start."

🚨 RECOVERABLE GOLD CONFIRMED 🚨

This amalgam was recovered from approximately *25kg of material collected from a 22-foot shallow well* in the Great Lakes Region.

No active gold mining operation.
No large excavation.
No drilling program.

Just careful investigation, geological observation, and verification.

Many people believe a gold detector is only useful for finding nuggets.

The reality is that in many parts of East Africa, gold occurs as microscopic gold associated with quartz systems. In such environments, success comes from understanding what the ground is telling you.

The *Garrett Axiom* did not "detect the gold ore."

What it did provide were important ground observations that helped identify an area worthy of further investigation.

The material was then sampled, processed, and recoverable gold was confirmed.

That is the difference between owning a detector and knowing how to use one.

At Detecting with Akello, we do not simply sell machines.
We help prospectors:
✅ Understand detector signals
✅ Interpret ground conditions
✅ Recognize promising geological indicators
✅ Reduce costly guesswork

A detector is a tool.
*Knowledge turns it into an investment*.

🪨 WORKING AROUND ROCKS?

Many prospectors use powerful gold detectors such as the Garrett Goldmaster 24K or Garrett Axiom to locate promising signals.

But when the target appears to be inside a rock, a large search coil can sometimes become difficult to use.

❌ The rock may be too large or irregularly shaped. ❌ The coil cannot get close enough to specific areas. ❌ Repeated contact with rocks can damage coil covers and coils. ❌ Weak signals become harder to isolate.

This is where a Garrett Pro-Pointer AT can be surprisingly useful.

✅ Gets into cracks and crevices ✅ Allows close inspection of specific spots on a rock ✅ Helps isolate signal sources more accurately ✅ Faster and more practical around large rocks ✅ Lightweight and easy to carry

Remember:

A gold detector such as the Goldmaster 24K or Axiom remains your primary prospecting tool because it helps you locate and assess targets over a much larger area.

The pinpointer is a companion tool that helps you investigate signals more closely once you have found something worth checking.

For example, quartz itself is non-conductive and should not produce a metal response. If a quartz rock is giving a signal, there is something within or attached to that rock causing the response. A pinpointer can help you narrow down exactly where that response is coming from.

Many prospectors spend hundreds of thousands of shillings on detectors but overlook one of the most useful accessories for target recovery and rock investigation.

⛏️ Every gold miner dreams of one day owning a serious detector, managing concessions, and recovering gold at scale.

But let me tell you something important 😊

Many gold journeys do not begin with a machine worth hundreds of thousands.

Sometimes… they begin with a gold pan and a river 🌊

Years ago in West Pokot, during a field demonstration with the Garrett Goldmaster 24K, I found my very first gold — a tiny piece they called “Supuu” 😂

The gold was extremely small.

Even with the detector, separating that tiny gold from the soil bit by bit was difficult.

Now this is where the story becomes interesting 👇🏽

My brother Matiko was leading the local team there, and among them was a lady known for one thing:

🔥 She could pan the tiniest gold using a traditional karai.

Not big nuggets. Not dramatic TV gold.

Tiny alluvial gold that many people would completely miss.

And that taught me something powerful:

⛏️ Before large mining concessions… ⛏️ Before expensive machinery…
⛏️ Before advanced detectors…

many miners first learn GOLD through panning.

Now here is the challenge:

Most beginners do not have:
❌ experienced panners
❌ expensive equipment
❌ enough money to start big

That is exactly why we brought in the Garrett Gold Trap Pan 😊

Unlike ordinary pans, Garrett’s patented Gold Trap Pan is designed with specialized trapping grooves that help hold gold based on density.

Meaning:
✅ easier learning for beginners
✅ better gold retention
✅ less frustration during panning
✅ more confidence in the field

And the best part?

💰 You do not need hundreds of thousands to begin.

If you can raise around KES 3,000, you can start your gold journey TODAY.

📌 Especially effective for ALLUVIAL GOLD recovery.

Sometimes the difference between “I want to start mining” and actually starting… is simply owning the right first tool 😊

⛏️ Why serious miners are increasingly choosing Garrett Axiom — even in areas where “gold detectors don’t work.”

This week, a miner called me interested in a machine.

As part of my assessment, I asked:

📍 “Where do you intend to use the machine?”

That question is not just conversation 😂
I am trying to understand the geology, mineralisation, and usability of the detector in that environment.

If it is an area I have never visited, I ask another important question:

👉 “Do miners recover visible gold directly from the ground, or do they use mercury/leaching methods?”

The miner paused and asked:

“So there are different types of gold?”

YES.

Some areas produce:
✅ visible nuggets
✅ coarse alluvial gold
✅ recoverable panned gold

But other areas mainly produce:
⚠️ fine gold dust
⚠️ ore-hosted gold
⚠️ chemically recovered gold

And this is where many miners buy the wrong machine.

⚠️ Gold detectors do NOT detect microscopic gold dust or invisible ore.

For a detector to respond, the gold must be large enough to rise above machine threshold.

That is why many small VLF detectors struggle in ore zones like parts of Migori.

But Garrett Axiom changes the game.

At Detecting with Akello, we do not teach Axiom as just a detector.

We train miners to use it as a ground intelligence and mineral tracing system.

⛏️ Instead of random digging:
✅ study mineralisation
✅ interpret dual ground balance responses
✅ separate salt and iron zones
✅ identify erosion movement
✅ trace potential gold-bearing structures

This approach helps miners reduce blind digging and improve recovery decisions.

⚠️ Do not just buy a machine. Buy from experts.

Because anyone can sell you a detector.

But only proper guidance transforms a purchase into:
💰 an investment
💰 a survey tool
💰 and a profit-oriented mining system

Small Machine (Goldmaster 24K) or Big Machine (Axiom)? 🤔⛏️

If you are planning to invest in a gold detector, you have probably reached this decision point.

First, let us be clear:
✅ Both machines work
✅ Both machines detect gold
✅ Both have helped miners recover gold successfully

The real question is:
👉 Which machine fits YOUR environment?

Recently, a miner visited us and explained the conditions in their mining area:
• crowded site
• many active detectors
• constant movement everywhere

Before even going deep into technical discussion, we advised him directly:

“Your environment requires a bigger machine.”

Here is why 👇🏽

⚡ Goldmaster 24K uses VLF technology.

VLF detectors are highly sensitive to small gold targets — one reason miners love them.

But in crowded mining environments, nearby movement, mineralised ground, metallic objects, and surrounding detectors can sometimes create signal instability that requires experience to interpret correctly.

⚡ This is where Garrett Axiom becomes a major advantage.

✅ Uses Pulse Induction (PI) technology
✅ More stable in crowded & mineralised ground
✅ Handles heavy interference better
✅ Advanced EMI management with multiple channels
✅ Greater confidence while detecting

In simple terms:

⛏️ Less noise
⛏️ Better stability
⛏️ More confidence in the field

As we always say:

Buying a detector is one thing.
Turning it into a profitable investment is another.

That is why choosing the RIGHT machine for your location matters.

At Detecting with Akello, we guide miners based on:
📍 Ground conditions
📍 Mining style
📍 Experience level
📍 Budget

We offer:
✅ Detectors & accessories
✅ Field training
✅ Repair services
✅ Warranty support

Before buying a detector, first understand your ground.

Many people entering gold detection ask us the same question:

“Can I start with a pinpointer instead of a detector?”

The answer depends on what exactly you want to achieve in the field.

At Detecting with Akello, we sell Original Garrett Pro-Pointer AT pinpointers. It is one of the most trusted recovery tools in metal detection worldwide.

But a pinpointer is not a replacement for a detector.

A detector helps you search and scan ground efficiently.

A pinpointer helps you recover the target faster after detection.

Think of it this way:
⛏️ A detector finds the target area
📍 A pinpointer helps locate the exact position of the target

For example, the Garrett Goldmaster 24K uses a search coil designed to scan larger ground coverage efficiently during prospecting.

The Pro-Pointer AT, on the other hand, is designed for close-range recovery inside:
✅ Dig holes
✅ Cracks and crevices
✅ Loose soil
✅ Riverbanks
✅ Tight spaces where precision matters

Another major difference is target interpretation.

A pinpointer responds to metallic targets generally and does not distinguish between gold and other metals.

Gold detectors such as Goldmaster 24K are designed to help users better interpret targets and ground conditions before recovery.

The Pro-Pointer AT also includes:
✅ Audio alerts
✅ Vibration alerts
✅ Waterproof capability up to 6 meters
✅ Fast and precise target recovery

For many miners and treasure hunters, a pinpointer becomes an important support tool — especially when working in difficult terrain or recovering very small targets.

The most important thing is choosing equipment based on:
📍Your ground conditions
📍Your mining method
📍Your target type
📍Your budget
📍Your long-term field goals

Machines are tools.

The real value comes from understanding which tool fits your environment and how to use it effectively in the field.

Yesterday I almost wrote off a purchase as “useless.” 😅

I bought a Bluetooth car adapter, plugged it in… nothing. Tried everything… still nothing. I was already thinking, another loss.

Then I asked for help.

The mechanic said, “I don’t know this, but I know someone who does.”

Five minutes later… 🎶 music flowing perfectly from my YouTube downloads. Clean. Clear. Working.

Same device. Different outcome.

That moment reminded me of something I keep seeing online—people saying detectors “don’t work.”
Let’s be honest…

A powerful machine without the right guidance can easily feel like a useless purchase.

But the truth is this:
The machine is only half the equation.
The other half is the expert behind it.

That’s where we come in.

With Garrett Axiom, you’re not just buying equipment… you’re stepping into a system designed to help you actually succeed:
✅ We guide you to the right setup for your ground
✅ We train you to interpret what the machine is telling you
✅ We support you long-term as you gain experience
✅ We handle repairs and warranty professionally

Because when the right machine meets the right support…
results stop being guesswork.

If you’ve ever felt like “these things don’t work”…
maybe what was missing wasn’t the machine.

It was the team behind it.
