Cosa significa, concretamente, una giornata di formazione in chirurgia refrattiva?

Significa passare dalla teoria alla pratica in poche ore: in aula, lo studio della biomeccanica corneale, dei criteri di esclusione e del ray tracing; in ambulatorio, l’acquisizione degli esami diagnostici e la pianificazione del trattamento; in sala operatoria, l’esecuzione dei casi clinici acquisiti e pianificati durante la giornata.

Il ray tracing è il filo conduttore di questo percorso: un metodo per costruire un trattamento sulle caratteristiche reali di ogni occhio, e non su un modello standard.
Le relazioni sono state tenute congiuntamente dal Dott. Scipione Rossi, organizzatore del corso, e dall’Ing. Giuseppe D’Ippolito, fondatore di iVis Technologies.

Il 15 maggio, presso la UOC di Oftalmologia dell’Ospedale San Carlo di Nancy di Roma, si è svolta la prima giornata dei Basic & Advanced Training Courses dedicati alla chirurgia laser refrattiva e terapeutica.

Un percorso formativo teorico-pratico promosso dalla SISO – Società Italiana di Scienze Oftalmologiche, ospitato dal San Carlo di Nancy (Gruppo GVM Care & Research) e certificato dalla facoltà di Medicina dell’Università Europea di Roma.
Una giornata pensata per i colleghi oculisti che vogliono approfondire le tecniche di selezione del paziente, la biomeccanica corneale e il ray tracing applicato alla chirurgia refrattiva — dalla teoria in aula fino alla sala operatoria.

iVis Technologies ha partecipato come partner tecnologico, contribuendo alla parte applicativa del percorso.

On April 15th, 22 surgeons from 10 countries gathered in Florence for a new beginning.

We launched the Less is More Club: a community of clinicians who share one belief — that the integrity of the eye must remain the primary endpoint of every clinical decision.

Quality of vision before visual acuity. Tissue preservation before the wow effect. Long-term stability before short-term results.

At the 3rd World Keratoconus Congress, our CEO Giuseppe D’Ippolito was honored with the IKS Industry Award, presented by Congress President Prof. Cosimo Mazzotta.

The recognition acknowledges 25+ years of R&D in corneal therapeutic and refractive care, 17 international patents, and the development of the 4D Suite, an integrated ecosystem designed to deliver standardized, personalized outcomes to every patient.

But awards are milestones, not destinations. The work continues.

Thank you to the International Keratoconus Society, to Prof. Mazzotta, and to the global community of surgeons and researchers who keep pushing this field forward with us.
