... exactly 1 year ago, Johan took a flight from Sweden to Italia. A one way flight.
Let's rewind a few months back: a Lancia HPE was sleeping (in good company) in a dry garage since decades. Decades! 30k kms only, 1 owner!
"Mastello, I would like to buy it... and to drive it back home!" 💥
So, a challenging & tiring overhaul process started: carb, brakes, fuel, electricity... everything needed to enjoy an epic road trip. HPE has some... funky specs, plus some parts are hard to find... yes, we surely dealt with a tough mission. Still, we had promised a sure result... and a man has one Word only.
Automatic choke system was acting weird, thermostat was blocked open, gear lever bushes did not want to collaborate... still, our Special 100km Final Test was a Pass ✅
We took care of the export process: sadly, original plates had to go and a temporary, paper plate did the job.
Johan and his friend flew into the beautiful Italian spring: they slept by Lake Como and the day after they took a scenic train up to the Alps... at Morbegno station, HPE was waiting for her new dad.
After a beautiful lunch at (with some food for the travel), the Epic Road trip started!
HPE behaved in a splendid way, Germany not so much: ferry in Rostock harbour was reached on time, but no boarding was allowed ☠️ Denmark, then... finally, after a 2500 km trip, Sweden was reached 🏁
