A look back at the Bologna-Florence high-speed railway.

In 1996, construction began on one of Italy’s most ambitious railway infrastructure projects: the high-speed line connecting Bologna and Florence, running largely through tunnels across the Apennines.

To support the construction works, CIFA supplied the Cavet Consortium with a range of equipment, including tunnel formworks, re-bar carriers, shotcrete pumps, truck-mounted pumps, and mixers.

A project that combined engineering, precision, and underground expertise, and where CIFA machines contributed to bringing a strategic connection to life.

A look back at the Florence–Rome high-speed railway.

Construction began in the 1970s, but it was in the 1980, along the most challenging Apennine section, that CIFA machines played a key role.

Shotcrete pumps were used to support the consolidation of the many tunnels along the route, operating in complex underground conditions where precision and reliability were essential.

A contribution to one of Italy’s most important railway infrastructures.
