PrimaLuceLab is an Italian company with a brilliant staff of engineers, designers and expert users, founded in 2013 to create innovative solutions for remote space exploration. Our passion and mission is to offer professional-level technologies to educational (schools, universities, science museums) and research (science institutes, space agencies) users at an affordable price. Today our team is c

omposed of 15 employees headquartered at our laboratory, warehouse and workshop in Porcia (PN – Italy). Our products range from smart astronomy devices used by astrophotographers all over the world to improve their telescopes to complete astronomical observatories and ground stations for astronomy education and research or for remote support of space missions. Our complete solutions are already in use by schools, universities, institutions and agencies all around the world: from Europe to Africa, from the Americas to Asia. Starting by 2015 they have been shown in the most important astronomy and space events like American Astronomical Meeting, International Astronomical Union, SpaceCom and Space Tech Expo.

Same platform, same software, same optics family. But the ditterences between these three Celestron are bigger than you think, and one of them is almost never mentioned.

In our new video we go through the real numbers: aperture, weight, optical correction across the field, back focus, focusing solution, exposure times and price.

Which one would you choose? Tell us in the comments!

Hello !

Summer break? For the office, yes (do not worry, we open again on August 24). But not for the sky! Yesterday we packed the telescope and drove up to the , to test under the stars some of the new solutions we are working on.

The setup was incredibly fast. No polar alignment, no counterweights to balance. And thanks to the integration of EAGLE computer, the cable management is so simple that we can move with the already pre-installed and the cables still connected. No need to disassemble everything, so once on the field we only need few minutes to be ready and pointing at the sky. So we had something rare, time. Time to sit down, look up, and simply wait for the darkness.

Astronomical twilight is the last step before the real night. When the Sun goes below the horizon the light fades in three stages. First the civil twilight, when you can still read outside. Then the nautical twilight, when the horizon becomes hard to see and the brightest stars appear. Then the astronomical twilight, when the Sun is around 15 degrees below the horizon. Only then, the sky is completely dark and the astronomical night begins.

And while we were waiting, we noticed something. Moving points of light, crossing the sky in every direction. Satellites, a lot of them. You see them especially in that moment. A satellite does not produce light, it only reflects the light of the Sun. Down here we are already in the shadow of the Earth, but a satellite few hundreds kilometers high is still fully illuminated. Dark sky, bright satellite. Later in the night many of them enter the shadow too, and simply disappear.

We stopped counting. There are so many more than just few years ago, and this is something every astronomer today has to live with.

Then the sky became completely dark, and we started to work.

We just completed the installation of a brand new ASTRO-RES Observatory Station at Atlar Innovation Space Center, Portugal! Inside this compact dome you'll find a Celestron RASA 14 optical tube, a 10Micron AZ2500-DDS mount in equatorial mode, a SBIG Aluma AC4040 cooled camera, and full remote control powered by our EAGLE6 XTM computer, plus SESTO SENSO 3 SC focusing motor, GIOTTO flat field generator, and ALTO telescope cover motor.

We filmed the entire installation, step by step: from the concrete base to the first calibration. Watch how a professional-grade, fully remote observatory comes together!

Is CPC Deluxe HD powered by PrimaLuceLab right for you?

CPC Deluxe HD powered by PrimaLuceLab sits between two very different products: smart and do-it-yourself setups. In this video, Filippo Bradaschia explains exactly who he recommends it to, and just as importantly, who should choose something else instead.

We worked with Celestron to build CPC Deluxe HD powered by PrimaLuceLab, starting from the CPC Deluxe HD Schmidt-Cassegrain OTA on its alt-azimuth mount, and adding a motorized focuser, a field de-rotator, astrophotography software, and optionally our EAGLE computer with a guide scope.

Under a burning sunset, the universe came a little closer! Last night we joined the H-FARM Summer Academy to share something we love: exploring the cosmos through .

We showed the students what's possible with our instruments, including the DUAL-COMPACT Observatory Station installed for H-FARM International School, walked them through the techniques behind , and revealed how we're making it possible for anyone to explore the sky with instruments that are powerful yet easy to use.

The weather wasn't on our side, but that didn't stop the wonder: we traveled together through planets, galaxies, and nebulae, with pictures captured also with the H-FARM observatory. Watching curiosity light up in a new generation of explorers? That's exactly why we do what we do.

We're proud to have installed a fully customized ASTRO-RES Observatory Station at ITS Academy G. Caboto in Gaeta (Italy) a leading technical institute for the maritime and logistics sector that is now opening a brand-new chapter: .

Now on the roof of their new Campus by the sea, the observatory features a Celestron EdgeHD 11" , an apochromatic refractor, ESATTO focusers, ARCO rotator, GIOTTO smart flat field generators, ALTO telescope cover motors, and our EAGLE computer at the heart of full automation and remote control, housed in a 3 meter diameter clamshell dome. Everything a teaching team needs to bring and observational astronomy into the classroom.

Hello ! Eric from Celestron and filippo.bradaschia sat down to present something we are really proud of: a that does not ask you to choose. Visual observation, planetary and lunar imaging, deep-sky astrophotography, all from one alt-azimuth setup, with no equatorial wedge.

Motorized focusing, ARCO field de-rotation, PLAY imaging software: you start simple, and you grow the system as far as you want to go. Your telescope, under your control.

The wait is over: "Alt-Az: It's About Time" is finally online! 🎬
This is just the beginning of the story. Filippo Bradaschia and Eric activate ARCO, and a normal night turns into a journey back to 1996, the year alt-azimuth hit a wall. What happens next? You will have to watch it to find out.
