Five towers, one timeless material: ROMAN TRAVERTINE.

In the heart of EUR — the iconic district of Rome, capital of Italy — Savema has recently completed the cladding of this major architectural project inspired by the historic EUR Towers designed in 1961 by architect Cesare Ligini, one of the defining symbols of post-war Italian modernism.

A project where material, light, and proportions dialogue with the architectural identity of contemporary Rome, enhancing the natural elegance of Travertine through a modern interpretation on a large scale.

"An almost perfect museum.” words of architect Taniguchi that capture the spirit of the  (MoMA) in New York, a landmark where architecture meets art.
Savema had the honor of contributing to MoMA’s expansion, a project likened to an urban planning intervention, connecting the museum’s diverse components as if they were a living city.
For this ambitious work, we partnered with  (KPF) and  and Associates, providing granite for interiors and exteriors. This required a unique approach, ensuring that the giant slabs maintained the same deep black intensity without reflections under different lighting conditions.
Our engineers developed a custom computer numerical control machine for ultimate precision in slab installation. A dedicated finishing and polishing technique was perfected to meet the challenge, turning a vision into reality.

"Without works of art, the museum architecture should look incomplete."

A look back at our contribution to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam where Savema proudly carried out the full scope of natural stone works

Much like Van Gogh’s brushstrokes that shaped modern art our craftsmanship shaped the museum’s extension with lasting impact. The façade made of Deer Isle granite was chosen for its strength texture and character echoing the emotional depth and timeless beauty found in Van Gogh’s work
