⚙️ Load conditions, wear resistance, required precision and operating conditions all play an important role in determining the most suitable solution for each application.

Among the materials commonly used for racks, gears and pinions are 20MnCr5, C45 and SAE1141.

🔩 20MnCr5 is a case-hardening steel, typically selected when high surface hardness and excellent wear resistance are required.
🔧 C45 and SAE1141 are equivalent steels that can be used for a wide range of mechanical transmission applications, with the possibility of combining them with different quality grades, depending on the required mechanical properties.

The choice of material, treatment and quality grades should therefore always be evaluated according to the specific application and the performance required from the rack, gear or pinion.
