Last week, we welcomed the National Council of Federmanager to our headquarters in Genoa for an institutional dialogue on the evolution of the energy sector and the challenges shaping Italy's industrial future.

Together with Valter Quercioli, President of Federmanager, we explored the strategic role of Ansaldo Energia in the global energy landscape and the importance of strengthening the Italian industrial ecosystem through collaboration across the supply chain.

The discussion also focused on investing in technical and managerial skills and the opportunities offered by nuclear energy as part of a diversified energy mix.

We thank Federmanager, Mario Cardoni, Alessandra Ceccarelli and all participants for this valuable exchange on the future of energy and Italian industry.

A data center cannot stop. It needs energy that is continuous, reliable and available around the clock.

At the first CDP Investor Day, held in Milan at SDA Bocconi, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti brought together more than 150 Italian and international institutional investors with the companies in its portfolio, to discuss the themes shaping Italy’s economic and industrial agenda, from artificial intelligence to the energy transition.

Speaking for Ansaldo Energia, our Chief Financial Officer, Simone Di Felice, highlighted a key point: before it is a matter of algorithms and chips, artificial intelligence is a matter of energy.

Alongside our traditional utility customers, we now serve the data center market, including in the United States. An order for eight 60 Hz gas turbines, built to the US grid standard, will power a data center in Texas and marks our return to the American market after more than thirty years.

Behind every AI application lies a growing demand for secure and reliable energy.

Turning fusion research into commercial deployment requires an industrial ecosystem ready to scale technologies, production capacity and specialised expertise.

At SOFT 2026, the Symposium on Fusion Technology held in Aix-en-Provence, Marco Palmero, Fusion Project Manager at Ansaldo Nucleare and Working Group Chair within the European Fusion Association, joined the round table “Opportunities and Challenges for the Fusion Supply Chain”.

The discussion focused on one of the key transitions facing the sector: moving from today’s R&D programmes towards the first commercial fusion plants while enabling the progressive and sustainable growth of the European supply chain.

Palmero highlighted the importance of creating the conditions for industry to invest in production capacity and specialised skills, while addressing the broader challenge of industrial readiness. This includes scaling existing capabilities, developing new ones and strengthening the enabling conditions required to accelerate the commercialisation of fusion energy.

For the European fusion ecosystem, the next phase will require close coordination between research organisations, institutions and industry, ensuring that technological ambition is supported by an industrial base ready to deliver.
