What a week for the YSS Team! ⚙️🚢

From commissioning a HAMANN sewage treatment system in Turkey, to removing and overhauling pumps in our workshop following service work in Genoa, the team has been operating at full capacity across the Mediterranean.

This week also included system re-starts in Mandelieu, an emergency JETS callout for a client arriving into Golfe Juan, and just as the weekend came into sight... another urgent technical intervention in Genoa.

The season is approaching fast and the workload is ramping up — but that’s exactly where we thrive. With planned maintenance, system commissioning, troubleshooting, emergency response and technical overhauls, the YSS Team is already running full steam ahead.

Early starts, workshop overhauls, and back onboard. ⚙️

Six HAMANN pumps removed, serviced, overhauled, and now heading back to Genova for installation and recommissioning. Keeping critical systems running efficiently is what we do best.

We contacted them for an emergency regarding JETS cassettes, and they responded within 24 hours with original spare parts. The technicians are very knowledgeable, even on Hamann and DVZ systems. Another busy day in full swing at the Amico & Co Ship Yard supporting yachts as they prepare for the season ahead. ⚙️

This morning focused on the removal of onboard pumps for overhaul and servicing, followed by dockside diagnostics and sensor inspections to ensure systems are operating at peak performance.

Next step: returning to the shipyard for installation of pumps fully rebuilt, pressure tested, and performance tested in our workshop before being commissioned back onboard. ✅

With projects scheduled next week across Turkey, Italy, and France, it’s clear the Mediterranean season is ramping up quickly.

🔧 Why Yachts Need Grease Traps Onboard

On any yacht, galley operations produce a constant flow of fats, oils, and grease (FOG). Without proper separation, these substances enter the pipework and sewage treatment system—where they quickly become a serious issue.
