Media Coverage of seminar which was held on 18-08-2025 on GRIHA certifcation system for green buildings. Professor M.A.Shah and Er. Aamir Ali Sb leading from front to promote Green Building Architecture in J&K. A ray of hope for saving energy in buildings sector . Last year J&K consumed 21159 MU electrical energy, out of which 9280 MU (44%) came from thermal power plants which produced 76 lac ton equivalent CO2 as a result of thermal generation consumed by J&K. Around 50% energy is consumed in buildings in J&K against 35% at national level. Great scope for conservation and a step towards prevention of global warming.

Seminar on GRIHA certification system for Green Buildings at NIT Srinagar yesterday, organized by Indian Building Congress (J&K Chapter) in collaboration with Alumni Association and Civil Engineering Students Association, NIT Srinagar and Sponsored by JK Green Technologies. Around 80 students and faculty participated in the seminar.

Thanks to Professor, M.A. Shah Sb. Dean Alumni Association, NIT and International Affairs and Er. Aamir Ali Sb, Chairman Indian Building Congress (J&K Chapter)/Vice Chairman Alumni Associations, NIT Srinagar and Civil Engineering Students Association, NIT for providing opportunity to JK Green Technologies for sponsoring the seminar and for delivering presentation on the subject by myself and Er. Suhail Qadir Sb, Head Systems Engineer, Qatar Energy, Founder and Managing Partner, JK Green Technologies.

The seminar marked the inaugural session in a new series conceptualized by Professor M.A. Shah Sb, titled ABC (Alumni Back to Class).
