American Society of Mechanical Engineers also known as ASME International was established in 1880 by a group of engineers with an intent of developing guidelines and standards of Mechanical Engineering. The Headquarters of ASME International is based in New York City. It is the largest Global Community of Mechanical Engineers. It is well known for its Codes and Standards in the field of mechanical
engineering. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) at the National Institute of Technology,Rourkela is more than just your everyday club. ASME is all about technology,learning,fun and meeting other engineers as well as introducing students to engineering outside of the classroom. ASME NIT Rourkela Chapter is one of the most prominent, active and dynamic student sections of ASME International. It was the students of 2010 batch who actually started efforts to establish this society in NIT Rourkela in 2012. The initial team basically consisted of five members who were Rishabh Malhotra, Diptatej Mishra, Anand Amrit, Gyanendra Tripathy and Kumar Parijat.. It is registered under Technical Society,SAC NIT Rourkela .Considered to be the most active and fastest growing technical club of NIT Rourkela,it has already added a lot of feathers to its wings. Year around activities like industrial visits,worksops,events at INNOVISION and ISM and other major projects like HPVC,SPDC,SLDC helps the members exploit their true potential.
