We are pleased to share the successful conclusion of our Technical Seminar on Spindle Reliability & Performance Optimization held in Kolhapur.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the manufacturing community, with attendance exceeding our initial expectations, reflecting strong industry interest in spindle reliability and performance enhancement.

The session featured in-depth discussions on spindle failure prevention, bearing failure analysis, preload optimization strategies, and best practices to improve spindle life and machine performance. This was followed by an engaging Q&A session, where industry professionals actively participated and had their technical queries addressed.

We extend our sincere thanks to all attendees for their enthusiastic participation and valuable engagement, which contributed to the success of the event.

🌍 World Environment Day 2026 🌱

As every year, we at Setco Asia proudly celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June, reaffirming our commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future.

Being a manufacturing company, we strongly believe that environmental responsibility is not just an initiative but our utmost priority. This year too, we continued our tradition of giving back to nature through a meaningful tree plantation drive.

🌳 This year, we planted a variety of trees including:
Neem, Banyan, Gulmohar, Ashoka, and Peepal.

What made this initiative truly special is the overwhelming participation across the organization. The response from employees has been growing year after year, and this time it was remarkable to see everyone come together — from house help staff to directors — actively participating in the plantation drive.

To ensure long-term impact, it has been mutually decided that each department will take ownership of the trees they planted. This includes regular care such as watering, adding fertilizers when needed, and ensuring healthy growth of every sapling.

This initiative reflects our shared belief that sustainability is not a one-day activity, but a continuous responsibility.

Reviving a Critical Gleason Gear Cutting Spindle

Setco Asia successfully repaired and rebuilt a highly complex Gleason gear cutting spindle a capability only a few companies in India can deliver.

Spindle Specifications:

* 566 RPM
* 95 HP
* 1200 Nm Torque
* 750 kg spindle weight
* Integrated magnetic rotor spindle

After 15+ years of operation, the spindle had seized with critical component challenges, including bearing availability.

Scope of Work:

✔ Bearing replacement
✔ Precision in-house machining
✔ Dynamic balancing
✔ Complete rebuilding & testing

The spindle was tested on our Siemens 160 kW closed-loop setup, ensuring OEM-level performance.

Results:
✔ Runout below 2 microns
✔ Reduced vibration & stable operation
✔ Smooth performance at full load

750 kg rotating smoothly at 566 RPM precision engineering that speaks for itself.

As part of our ongoing commitment to workforce health and preventive care, we recently organized our half-yearly Health Check-Up Camp for employees at our facility.

The health screening included:
• Anthropometric Assessment (Height, Weight & BMI)
• Body Composition Analysis
• Blood Pressure Evaluation
• Random Blood Glucose Testing
• Visceral Fat & Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) Assessment
• Vision & Eye Health Screening

The camp was conducted in association with Deshpande Eye Hospital & Laser Center, Pune.

The first Guinness World Record associated with the Setco Spindles India company name a milestone that will always remain special for us.

Setco Spindles India added another proud chapter to its journey with the first Guinness World Record associated with the company name and its employees who participated in the World’s Largest Box Cricket Tournament for SMEs.

To celebrate this milestone, Setco organized a felicitation ceremony where Guinness World Record participation certificates were distributed to the employees who represented the organization in this historic event. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and sporting spirit made this achievement memorable for the entire Setco family.

This also marks the second Guinness World Record connection for Setco Spindles India, following the achievement of our Managing Director, Rajesh Mandlik, who was previously part of the record for the longest human chain underwater.

Spindle Refurbishment Case Study | DOOSAN BT50 Integrated Spindle

Sharing a recent case study of a spindle refurbishment project carried out for a customer specializing in cutting, bending, welding, and assembly, serving the manufacturing and automotive sectors.

Machine & Application Details:
• Spindle Make: DOOSAN – BT50 – Integrated
• Running Speed: 8,000 RPM
• Machining Materials: Aluminum & Cast Iron

Reported Problem:
The customer reported a runout issue, affecting machining precision and overall performance.

Root Cause Analysis:
• Spindle had met with an accident, resulting in bearing noise
• Detected taper runout issue, impacting accuracy

Work Carried Out:
• Refurbishment of shaft taper grinding
• Shaft OD restoration (HCP)
• Replacement of O-rings
• Assembly with new bearings and correct preload
• Complete spindle assembly

Inspection & Testing:
• Final inspection of all spindle parameters
• Test run performed up to maximum RPM (8,000)
• Post vibration analysis conducted

Outcome:
The spindle was successfully restored, resolving the runout issue and ensuring smooth operation with improved accuracy and reduced vibration.
