We are excited to announce an all-new product, which we will showcase at the upcoming Automotive Testing Expo, starting on October 27th in Novi, Michigan.

Meet FireFlash OEM from Intrepid Control Systems, a Plant Flashing Server that incorporates vehicle-specific recipes, live-cycle tracking, and plant-wide traceability.

On the line, operators simply scan the VIN and the server picks the right recipe for that exact vehicle, builds the software package with the VIN already written in, and flashes multiple ECUs in parallel.

Because operators never pick a file, they can’t pick the wrong one. Every cycle is recorded: VIN, ECU, software part, operator, station, timestamps, and every UDS step.

Supervisors and quality teams can follow the whole plant live in a browser, with nothing to install. They see vehicle yield and ECU yield tracked separately, failure Paretos down to the individual service, and alerts for missing software before the vehicle arrives.

It’s been an awesome week at The Battery Show in downtown Detroit, where we have unveiled our new AI platforms to conference attendees.

This week, we hosted Vincent Lombardi from the Argonne National Laboratory EcoCAR Challenge at our HQ in Troy, Michigan, to receive preliminary Intrepid equipment kits for the EcoCAR program.

Our Director of Manufacturing, Kevin Kitlinski, led a manufacturing tour, while Intrepid team members visited Western Michigan University to support their first year in the program.

As the name suggests, this class introduces Ethernet basics with a focus on 10BASE-T1S. Throughout the morning tomorrow, we will cover the physical layer, Physical Layer Collision Avoidance (PLCA), line encoding, and burst mode. We will also cover zonal architectures, an important consideration in an era of software-defined vehicles.

Like all Intrepid classes, Vehicle Spy 10BASE-T1S will focus on practical applications, including setting up a RAD-Comet 2, observing received frames, creating and transmitting messages, and observing special symbols on the bus.

Last week, we participated in the EcoCAR Challenge kickoff at Georgia Tech.

Intrepid Control Systems is a supplier sponsor for a four-year project with 20 other universities across the United States, using General Motors and Stellantis vehicle platforms donated to teams.

This announcement has been in the making for more than a year, and it represents the culmination of an incredible multi-OEM partnership that will train the next generation of engineers and business leaders for the auto industry.

Thank you to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), General Motors, Stellantis, and MathWorks for making the EcoCAR Innovation Challenge a reality. We are thrilled to have our seasoned engineers like Matthew Snyder supporting the GM track of this program with Intrepid products and training.

Here’s a quick glimpse of our collaboration with EcoCAR and GM—special shout-out to first-year EcoCAR Challengers at Western Michigan University.
