SHAX Installation Programme 2026–2027 | SXCCE

St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (SXCCE), Nagercoil, organized the SHAX Installation Programme 2026–2027 through the Science and Humanities Association of Xavier’s (SHAX) to introduce the newly elected office bearers and highlight the association’s activities and opportunities.

The programme commenced with a prayer song, welcome dance, and ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the welcome address by Dr. N. Sheen Kumar. Dr. A. Delbio, Faculty Advisor, introduced the office bearers, and Shany A., Secretary, presented the annual report.

The Chief Guest, Dr. G. Rexin Thusnavis, Vice Principal, Pioneer Kumaraswamy College, Nagercoil, delivered an inspiring address. The Principal, Dr. J. Maheswaran, and the Correspondent, Rev. Fr. S. Godwin Selva Justus, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to develop leadership qualities and actively participate in association activities. Vibrant folk and western dance performances added colour to the celebration, which concluded with a vote of thanks and the College Anthem.

The programme was organized through the collaborative efforts of Dr. J. Maheswaran, Principal; Dr. V. Vijimon Moni, Head of the Department; Dr. N. Sheen Kumar, AHOD; Dr. A. Delbio, Faculty Advisor; and the staff members.

Seminar on “IPR Basics for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” | SXCCE

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (SXCCE), Nagercoil, organized a seminar on “IPR Basics for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” on 30 September 2026 at the Civil Computer Lab.

The session was delivered by Dr. R. S. Shaji, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SXCCE. The seminar aimed to create awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their role in protecting innovations, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting business growth.

A total of 60 students and one faculty member participated in the seminar, gaining valuable insights into the importance of IPR in innovation and entrepreneurship.

🚀 Exploring India’s Space Technology | Industrial Visit to VSSC Museum

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (SXCCE), organized an Industrial Visit to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Museum, Thiruvananthapuram, on 16 September 2026 for 104 second-year students, accompanied by six faculty members.

The visit offered students valuable insights into India’s space research, rocket technology, and launch vehicle systems. By exploring exhibits showcasing the evolution of Indian rocketry, from its early developmental stages to advanced launch systems, students gained practical exposure that complemented their classroom learning.

🎓 GATE Awareness Programme | SXCCE

St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (SXCCE) organized a GATE Awareness Programme on 24 September 2026 at the EEE Seminar Hall, with the participation of around 160 students from various departments.

The session was delivered by Prof. P. Venkatakrishnan, IIT Madras, who provided valuable insights into the GATE examination pattern, marking scheme, preparation strategies, examination schedule, and the academic and career opportunities available through a good GATE score.

The interactive session enabled students to clarify their queries and gain confidence in planning their GATE preparation.

The programme was well received and served as a valuable platform to motivate students towards competitive examinations and higher studies.

🚀 Industry-Oriented Project Development Workshop | SXCCE

St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (Autonomous), through the Professional Cell – IETE Student Forum (ISF), successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Industry-Oriented Project Development” on 12 September 2026.

The workshop provided hands-on exposure to Arduino programming, Tinkercad circuit simulation, coding, industry-oriented project development, AI tools, prompt engineering, and AI project challenges. 💡

The interactive sessions encouraged students to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions while strengthening their problem-solving skills and project development capabilities.
