ZAKARIAHS MATHEW, Chairman & Managing Director, SENZO Group of Companies, today a well known figure in the world of machinery inventions, having the unique record of applying for 27 patents in India, was born to an agriculturist family in a remote Kerala village. The bookish education bored him, the vibrant machine interested him. He chose to better drive a tractor on the fields. At the age of 22
the curiosity in this tractor driver drove him to dismantle his tractor and re-assemble it to know it's functioning in detail. However, his first run into an invention was at the age of 20, when he developed a pulley system attached to a bucket transporting mud from the hill top to down below to construct a road, near Manjur Pulicken, near Kottayam, in Kerala. Without any technical diploma or engineering degree to his credit, without a god father or any kind of guidance, his knowledge being only his creative genius and innovating mind, initially he could make a meager hand to mouth living by repairing whatever machines he would get. Later, he started visiting larger factories like Godrej, Voltas, Boots, Siemens and Larsen &Toubro. He offered his services to solve their production problems by re-designing/modifying their existing machines and also designed some new machines for them. He designs machines according to the public need and the need of his customers. He began with small steps, accepting challenges put up by malfunctioning machinery, using his natural talent, innovative thinking and hands-on methods on repair jobs. Today his name is synonymous with solving machinery problems. He is known in the industrial circles as 'Machinery Trouble-Shooter'!
