Helping a client use a MT4 Micro Boring Kit on his MT5 jig boring machine. Since MT5 was not ready stock, we offered the client MT4 to be used with a MT5-4 reduction sleeve. Product is Micro Boring Head Dia 100 mm which holds a 25 shank boring tool, working diameter range of 25-250 mm, with a MT4 Tang Taper adaptor.

Doing a right angle on a large Dia 120 mm Micro Boring Head. We did grinding on one surface, which was held on to an angle plate, with some right angle packing on the bottom. On the first cut, you can see some taper coming off- might be 0.03 to 0.05 mm at least. Next we put this surface on grinder and work on the opp surface.

Slitting Cutter: 1.5 mm
In this brief video we are showing a slitting operation on the head body of a Dia 75 mm/ Dia 3” Micro Boring Head. The slitting saw cutter is 1.5 mm and set up is on a M1TR machine. The fixture is customised. The slot and dovetails have been done before hand. This operation is followed by three drills and taps which will eventually be used to lock the slide and dovetail after assembly. If you would like to learn more, feel free to drop an email.

Boro-Tech Micro Boring Head Dia 100 mm fitted with a BT40 Shank and few extensions.

The user needed a Boring Solution for deep boring operation for diameters larger than 110 mm. This Boring Head has a body dia of 100 mm.

Each of the three extensions is 60 mm thus taking the total to 180 mm. Add to it the height of the boring head of 100 mm, you get the total working length of at least 280 mm. The user can set the Boring Tool height as per requirement.

The Boring head takes 25 mm Boring Tools and a has feed screw of 0.01 mm or 20 microns on the diameter.
