GIDC (Lodhika) Estate was setup by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation in 1990. This industrial estate is spread over an area of 424 hectares in close proximity to State Highway No. 23 and 12 kilometer from Rajkot city. The estate with 1500 plots fully equipped with infrastructural facilities required for the development of industry. Being an ideal location for industrialization, as on date
, more than 1000 industries, consisting of Engineering, Plastic, Packaging, Food-Processing, Building Material, Pharmaceutical, Cold Storage etc. The estate with capital investment of around Rs. 30,000 Million is generating employment of 22,000 with the export of Rs. 5,900 Million in the year of 2011-12. GIDC (Lodhika) Industrial Association (GLIA) was established in 1996 by the industries located in GIDC (Lodhika) Estate. At present GLIA stand out from other state based industries associations by its achievements in diversified areas. Several activities are being undertaken under the umbrella of GLIA that includes the object of development and simultaneous maintenance of infrastructure. GLIA also conducts the activities like educational, environmental, medical, employment and other social activities.
