Proper lap length is critical for structural continuity and load transfer in RCC structures.

As per IS 456:2000, lap length should be provided based on bar diameter, grade of steel, and stress conditions — and must be avoided in high-stress zones such as maximum bending moment regions.

मजबूत नींव सही देखभाल से शुरू होती है!
IS 456:2000 के अनुसार, उचित कवर स्पेसिंग रिइनफोर्समेंट की सही स्थिति और दीर्घकालिक संरचनात्मक मजबूती के लिए अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

स्पेसर या कवर ब्लॉक्स के उपयोग से निर्धारित कंक्रीट कवर बनाए रखने पर:
• सही effective depth प्राप्त होती है
• लोड का समान वितरण सुनिश्चित होता है
• भारतीय मानकों (IS Codes) का पालन होता है
• RCC नींव की टिकाऊपन और विश्वसनीयता बढ़ती है

IS 456 के अनुसार न्यूनतम कंक्रीट कवर:
• नींव (Foundations): 50–75 मिमी
• कॉलम: 40 मिमी
• बीम: 20–70 मिमी
• स्लैब: 20–55 मिमी
• रिब्स: 20–65 मिमी

पर्यावरणीय परिस्थितियों और अग्नि सुरक्षा आवश्यकताओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए, कंक्रीटिंग के दौरान रिइनफोर्समेंट के खिसकने से बचाने के लिए हमेशा स्पेसर या कवर ब्लॉक्स का उपयोग करें।
