We are delighted to share that our B.Tech (IT) Final Year students – Rajnish Singh, Aditya Singh, Pritee Yadav, and Ankita Gupta – under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Roop Ranjan, Director – BIT, have successfully published their research paper in Scopus Indexed Conference Proceedings (Taylor & Francis Publication).

“From Pixels to Precision: Advanced OCR Techniques for Layout-Aware Text Extraction Using ML and DL Approaches”

🎓✨ 1st National Conference on Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET-2025)

📍 Buddha Institute of Technology, GIDA, Gorakhpur

The Department of Research and Development at Buddha Institute of Technology successfully organized its 1st National Conference on Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET-2025)—a unique platform exclusively curated for faculty members to showcase their research and innovations.

The conference was inaugurated with the ceremonial lamp lighting and an inspiring welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Roop Ranjan, Director, BIT. The inaugural session witnessed the esteemed presence of:

🟢 Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering – Chief Guest, Keynote Speaker, and Session Chair.
🟢 Mr. Vijay Kumar Srivastav, Chief Technology Officer, Buddha Group of Institutions.
🟢 Prof. Prabhakar Tiwari, Professor & Head, Department of Electrical Engineering – Session Chair and Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session.

📚 Total 46 faculty members presented their original research contributions across various domains of science and engineering.

🌟 Day 1 Highlights: 2nd International Conference on IoT, Communication, and Automation Technology (ICICAT 2024) 🌟

Buddha Institute of Technology, Gida, Gorakhpur, in joint collaboration with REC Sonbhadra, successfully inaugurated the 2nd International Conference on IoT, Communication, and Automation Technology (ICICAT 2024) on 23rd November 2024.

The conference began with a grand inaugural ceremony, graced by distinguished dignitaries:
🔹 Chief Guest: Prof. Kumar Krishen, Ex-Chief Technologist, NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston.
🔹 Guests of Honour:

Prof. Asheesh Singh, MNIT Allahabad

Dr. Vijay Shankar Tripathi, MNIT Allahabad

Dr. Akhilesh Tiwari, IIIT Allahabad

The ceremony was marked by the traditional lamp lighting, attended by Dr. R. A. Agarwal (Honorable Chairman, BIT), Dr. N. Guruprasad (CTO, Buddha Group of Institutions), and Dr. Arvind Kumar Pandey (Director, BIT).

Conference Statistics (Day 1):
A total of 305 papers were presented in online and offline modes, with 47 papers from international participants.
🌍 International Keynote Speakers:
1️ - Dr. Jai Govind Singh (Associate Professor, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok) delivered his keynote address in physical mode.

2️- Dr. Dipti K. Sarmah (Docent, University of Twente, The Netherlands) presented in online mode.

The inaugural session witnessed the presence of 75 participants in offline mode, setting a vibrant and interactive tone for the event.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Kumar Krishen, was felicitated by Dr. R. A. Agarwal, adding a memorable moment to the ceremony.
