The Institution Innovation Council, iHUB Shivalik, Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun organized a Boot camp on Problem Solving/Ideation dated on 27-28 November, 2025, in shivalik incubation cell. 100 students participated in this event.
The students highlighted real-world challenges and demonstrated his structured problem-solving can be used to generate impactful solutions
These are following topic Participants introduced solving
• Problem identification frameworks
• Root cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone)
• Ideation processes
• Prototype thinking
• Evaluation and refinement of ideas.
Participants expressed that the Problem Solving was highly engaging, interactive, and beneficial. They appreciated the real-time mentoring, hands-on activities, and collaborative environment. Many indicated interest in participating in future innovation or entrepreneurship programs

The speaker emphasized that innovation is a key driver of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the need for creative thinking and problem-solving skills. He discussed how innovative ideas are the foundation of successful entrepreneurial ventures. The webinar underscored the essential skills and mindset required for a career in entrepreneurship, including adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to take calculated risks. He also discussed the value of mentorship programs and startup incubators in nurturing entrepreneurial talent. The Institution Innovation Council, iHUB Shivalik, Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun organized a Session on Basic of Intellectual Property Right (IPR) for Innovators and Entrepreneurs dated on 30 October, 2025, in Shivalik seminar hall. 45 students and 25 Faculty participated in this session.

The session began with a detailed introduction to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its growing importance for researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Mr. Himanshu Goel sir emphasized that in today’s competitive world, protecting intellectual assets is crucial for fostering innovation, securing investments, and ensuring long-term business success. He elaborated on the various types of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs, and provided real-world examples to illustrate their practical applications. He further explained the criteria for patentability, including novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability, and highlighted the non-patentable inventions under respective patent laws

The Institution Innovation Council, iHUB Shivalik, Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun organized a Session on Achieving Problem –Solution Fit, Dated on 14th October, 2025 in shivalik Seminar Hall.45 students participated in this session.

Resource person Dr. Sumit Kumar started the session by giving an introduction to the concept of Problems and Solutions that may arise in the Entrepreneurship domain. He then briefed the students about the benefits of becoming an entrepreneur and how to overcome these problems for a successful venture. Dr. Kumar elaborated Achieving Problem Solution Fit and Product Market Fit by explaining the concept of ‘product life cycle’ and other related terms. Next, Dr. Kumar showed the students some short video clips of various entrepreneurs who created innovative solutions to the problems. For example, one of the clips was about Ganesh Balakrishnan, who is the founder of Flatheads. Flatheads is a sneaker company which manufactures sneakers and shoes from naturally available raw materials with the elimination of rubber and plastic

The Institution Innovation Council, iHUB Shivalik, Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun organized a Demo Day/Idea Showcase Ideathon-2025 Conduct dated on 08th October, 2025 in Shivalik Incubation Centre. 120 students participated in this idea Showcase.

The inauguration of the Ideathon-2025 was conducted at 11:00 a.m. by the Chief Guest, Vice Chairman Shri Ajay Kumar, SCE, Dr. Surmadhur Pant, Dean IQAC & Dean Student Welfare, and Shri Ajay Kumar Verma, Associate Dean of CBII, Shivalik College, were also present. The following awards have been announced based on the evaluation criteria to deferent-deferent idea and problem solving.

Shivalik College organized Ideathon-2025 in two stages: one at the school level and the second at the institute level. The school-level Ideathon was for students from classes 9th to 12th , and its theme was “Solving Societal Challenges.” The Institute-level theme was “Stages of Entrepreneurship.” Participants from both levels were evaluated, and the results were announced. The following awards have been announced based on the evaluation criteria:
Institute level Prizes :
First Prize: ₹50,000/- cash prize and certificate and Incubation support up to Rs. 5 Lacs)
Second Prize: ₹25,000/- cash prize and certificate and Incubation support up to Rs. 5 Lacs
Third Prize: ₹15,000/- cash prize and certificate and Incubation support up to Rs. 5 Lacs
4-10th Position- Mentorship and Infrastructure support and Incubation Support up to Rs. 2 Lacs

The Center of Business Incubation and Innovation (CBII) and iHUB Shivalik, Shivalik College of Engineering organized the 30-hour Hackathon-2025 on Octoberber 08-09, 2025, and the solution presentation session took place on October 08, 2025.
This hackathon was focused on providing innovation and Technology, based on industrial and social problem statements. Companies such as Smart Data Inc., In this program, over 305 participants from 105 teams, including students from engineering colleges in Uttarakhand, UP, and the NCR region, Hariyana, Gujrat, took part.
The inauguration of the hackathon was conducted at 11:00 a.m. by the Chief Guest, Professor (Dr.) Rankar Singh, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University. Along with him, Shri Ajay Kumar, Vice President, Dr. Surmadhur Pant, Dean IQAC & Dean Student Welfare, and Shri Ajay Kumar Verma, Associate Dean of CBII, Shivalik College, were also present. The following awards have been announced based on the evaluation criteria:
First Prize: ₹50,000/- cash prize and certificate.
Second Prize: ₹25,000/- cash prize and certificate.
Third Prize: ₹15,000/- cash prize and certificate.
Consolation Prize 1: ₹5,000/- cash prize and certificate.

At the conclusion of Hackathon 2025, the students worked relentlessly for 30 hours, presenting various innovative solutions/projects for industrial and social problems..

The Institution Innovation Council, iHUB Shivalik, Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun Participated online mode to subject Orientation Session on IIC 8.0 Calendar & R&D Cell Activities for AY 2025–26 dated on 22th October, 2025.
Prof TG Sitharam gave a clarion call to all the institutions to be dynamic enough as far as the R&D cell activities are concerned. In addition, he highlighted the significance of establishment of Climate Cell as a part of the IIC, and spearheading Climate change related activities not only for awareness raising but also for ensuring sustainability in the society.
The discussion focused on MIC-driven, self-driven, and calendar-driven activities aimed at strengthening innovation, research, and entrepreneurship ecosystems across higher education institutions. Participants also explored ways to integrate R&D Cell initiatives with institutional innovation frameworks to enhance overall effectiveness.
The session, coordinated by Dr. Amrita, IIC Convener, witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students. It served as a roadmap for the upcoming academic year, inspiring participants to align their innovation and R&D strategies with national goals

Our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Nikhil Pratap Singh- an explorer, adventure, wildlife photographer, and impact driven entrepreneur- deliver a thought provoking session on : "why the future belongs to Doers: Project Dawn & the making of India's Next change makers".
He shared valuable Insights on the importance of networking, continuous learning beyond the classroom, and the skills every students must develop to stay future- ready. His inspiring journey encouraged students to take initiatives, explore opportunities, and evolve as change maker.

Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Joshi sir Presenting What is meaning of Entrepreneurship and how can Build our thought process and he says that how Increased awareness and motivation among students toward entrepreneurship, Improved understanding of start-up development processes, Identification of student ideas with potential for incubation, Strengthened innovation culture within the institute, Encouraged students to participate in future IIC activities and competitions.
This sessions helped students gain knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. The institute remains committed to nurturing innovation and supporting young entrepreneurs.
